Terminal List - Chris Pratt TV Show Amazon July 2022 - Based on a Jack Carr Novel

I quite enjoyed it, my main complaint was just how dark the whole thing was, and I mean literally, had to have the curtains closed to be able to see anything on the screen at all for much of it.

Finished it last night, I felt it was a solid 5-6/10 which is a decent "OK-Good" score. It had some issues with the pacing but got better towards the end, the storyline and character decisions made logical sense, Pratts wig/hair changed every other scene which was an odd thing to notice, the story was "close enough" to the novel I'd read that the changes the TV show had to make didn't negatively harm it, the action scenes were well filmed but a little sterile (i.e. Pratt never seems to miss) and there were a few character changes with the FBI-HRT characters which would have worked better than those filmed I think - but overall, whilst it didn't set my world on fire, I found it to be solid, competent TV and I look forward to whatever comes next for James Reece.

The Critical Drinker rated it higher than I would (review below) but I agree with most of his points, especially his point on "thats how you write a set of strong empowered women" which I think a lot in the media very deliberately missed in their clamour to claim the show is a "right wing fantasy" brought to life.

Gave this ago today after seeing all the negative press when it released but after watching it all it wasn't that bad at all and rather enjoyable, yes it might have been even better if it wasn't Chris Pratt, he did ok with it.

Much prefer Reacher to this, they also love a flashback! And why is it so hard to see anything, crushed blacks and silhouettes.

Edit - One more rant - I work in a world of acronyms as I'm sure a lot do, but they're all over the place in this show.

Well I really enjoyed this, yes it re-tread old ground but it did it at a much higher standard and believability than a lot of recent shows. Nice to see another side of Chris Pratt and I thought the whole cast was really good.

It's a crowded market but this was at the better end. This is kind of how I felt after season 1 of Jack Ryan and lets us never discuss season 2 of that show.

You mean how a basic Marine officer who, on his first tour had his actions directly kill 13 of his own men, then turned financial market analyst for the CIA, is somehow now a highly trained CIA-SAD/Special Forces level of one man army who can destroy whole countries on his own

I agree, lets never ever discuss this again :D

Just finished watching this. I thought it was fantastic on the whole. Pratt was very good, and it didn't feel too contrived or convoluted. The "twist" of the final person profiting was very obvious, but it was still brilliant.

Just shows that most professional reviews aren't worth the Internet space.

It's definitely got a lot of bad faith 10/10 reviews, just like it's also got a lot of bad faith 0/10 reviews, but overall it would still say it's rated "highly" (say between 6/10 to 8/10) by the majority of reviews.

It’s a solid entertaining show that has no pretensions beyond telling the story well and plausibly. I really enjoyed it, it’s not era defining, not even close but it is good.

In an era with plenty of flabby half-arsed shows where the premise barely hangs together it stands out a bit.

I enjoyed it too, more so the first half of the show as I thought the last two or three episodes started to get a bit silly, so pulled it down a little overall.

I though it was shot well. But the Hollywood temptation to make a super hero out of main characters and have a kung fu battle with the various end boss's seems hard to resist.

That aside I liked it.

Got to like 2 eps from the end on this and lost interest. Once it moves past the mystery and intrigue, and becomes one man army, it kinda just devolves into silliness.
