I'm not sure sticking your fingers in your ears is a valid legal defence. While the car is running under insurance in your name, it absolutely IS your problem.
The chances you get away with it are probably in your favour, but you still run the risk of having a claim against you if the car is involved in an accident in the next 2 weeks. Or worst case scenario, a claim is made against you which you are unaware of, you invalidate your own insurance policy by failing to declare that claim, you get into an accident, and then it transpires that since your policy is now void, you are prosecuted for driving without insurance.
But by all means crack on and ignore the friendly advice given by the posters above.
