On autoban you can drive your car to a top speed but not everywhere I known I am driving in Germany every year.

Sometimes the only way to get a bite is to stick your neck out --- I read what you posted --- but I just don't see enough "activity" online of people being NIP'ed for over 70 on a motorway to believe they are properly switched on. I slow down anyway, but I've certainly been hit a couple of times at 80-85mph in the last decade with no issue.
Police cars definitely do well above 100mph. I regularly see them forcing out the way people doing 90mph in the outside lane.
It is even more bizarre when they do it with no lights on.
What you chose to believe is up to you.

The gantries are set pretty high. I’ll often leave cruise control on 78 through them as I do on most of the motorway, people seem to slow excessively for them. As you say I’ve gone through between 80-85 too without as much as a flash. I find average speed zones to be similar, well beyond speed limit plus 10%.
A proper road traffic lawyer would be his best bet. Someone who can get a prepack deal before even hitting the court room hands up guilty pleas are always taken into account and a prosecutor will always take a deal

Probably, but I am also aware that... "Between 1st July 2018 to 30th June 2019 the number of Notice of Intended Prosecutions (NIP’s) issued for vehicle exceeding the National speed limit for this section of the M6 Motorway was 763." Not a huge amount, but I have seen many a camera flash on side gantries, digital cameras that don't need a film in them.
This isn't an opinion, it's a statement of fact. The full text explains this relates to people travelling over 70mph when the limits were off whom were caught by cameras on said gantries. Just because I don't know the people who have been into space, I know people have been into space. Ignoring these cameras when the lights are off is foolish. Ask the 763.

Yeah average speed @ 50/60 I set cruise to 50/60 +10% as my Speedo is well off. That usually puts me "a head of the pack". I've had one friend confirmed "booked" for blowing through an average at 70+ though.
I've been flashed by a smart gantry doing +, and braking whilst a mate of mine overtook me going well over that. It was his flash that made me hit the brake. He didn't even see it and carried on zooming. No idea how many he went through. We were the only 2 cars on the motorway I could see. Was about 3am and I had no idea it was him until I saw him sail past, I'd last seen about him 100 miles back at a services. Neither of us got tickets. I think the first one on the A/M42 going north.
Conversely, I know people that have had tickets going barely over 50 on the M6 gantries when there's no traffic and another gantry within eyesight showing national speed limit.

Just looking at thoughts on this. last week my old man was in lane 2 on the M6 conditions were clear but dark. Car if front starts to slow so he checks mirror indicates and pulls out. A few seconds later Blue flashing lights behind him pulling him over. Turns out My dad pulled out on a traffic...

Someone posted the freedom of information request a few pages back, they may be set at a higher threshold than other cameras ie 90mph+

Don't think there is any hard and fast rule - the videos I've seen EMS and police response on route generally seem to peak at around 94-95MPH, though in pursuits, etc. they'll go well over 120 even.
Yes but as I pointed out earlier, that isn't specific, the person simply ask if "the speed cameras" are active, they don't specify which.
Motorways have gantry cameras and the ones on the left side (HADES something), the ones in the left are always active, and I've seen people flashed by those loads, they are also more difficult to see.
The police then reply "the speed cameras are always active" which is technically correct but doesn't break it down as to which ones, nor would they have to they have answered the question correctly.
I've personally never seen anyone get caught going through gantry cameras when no variable speed limit is active and I've gon through them myself 90 odd mph.

Wouldn't be too hard to make that up, put a "fake" real name on it to make it seem more legit, post it around. There are plenty of do gooders who think they are being smart posting ******** around to get some sense of power thinking they are slowing people down, to make them think their own insignificant let me is more important than it is.

The thing as well and I have said this before but I dont think doing 120mph on a motorway in the right circumstances is particularly dangerous, its just speed is easy to prosecute.
Id much rather share a motorway with someone doing 120 in say a high performance car that is well maintained and the person driving in experienced and focused, rather than some scatty blone with 3 bald tyres becase "it'll get picked up in the MOT innit" doing her makeup in her mirror and checking her facebook but doing the speed limit.
But the latter is much harder to prove and prosecute, people do FAR more dangerous htings on the road than speed, but the speeding is eay to prosecute, people need to get off their high horse about it.

I watch Motorway Cops every week and I've seen at least 3 drivers doing that speed and only get points and a fine.

Had to double check that there wasn't a focus sti so I had to read this twice
. I'm amazed a focus could go at 140 tbh (Google tells me 155 max).

I got 137 out of my insignia 2.0 Diesel years ago so would expect an ST Focus can go quite a bit fasterHad to double check that there wasn't a focus sti so I had to read this twice
