Dirty block from a 'new' Arctic Freezer II

Hi guys,

So I've just unboxed a 'new' Arctic Freezer Ii 360 a-rgb cooler.

The outside box tabs seemed loose and on close inspection the block looks dirty? Is this normal? I don't have much experience with these coolers.

What are your opinions?

are the 2 dirty marks under or on the plastic protective layer?

It's hard to say these days though, I had a brand new motherboard which I know for 100% certain was freshly delivered stock but the board had a finger print on it.

must have been from the factory, If I didn't know better I would have thought it was someone's return

It's on the actual block. I can't clean it off either...

Looks like finger prints, my artic freezer 420 wasn't sealed as they put a 1700 fitting kit in it.
Ask them if it's had the seal kit fitted to it as artic are sending out kit to people that need it.

I removed the copper plate to have a look at the gasket and it all looked good. Could have possibility been serviced as part of the bad batch that suffered corrosion?

The 1700 is also included and everything else looked new so I went ahead and fitted it on.

Initial temps weren't great, like low 80s on some stress testing on a 8700k at 4.5ghz.

Seems the liquid metal has settled in now, same testing is in the 60s now.

Was the gasket white or black as the upgrade is white.

Probably contaminated on the production line. Can remove the marks with something acidic (ketchup works well) if you can't be arsed to return it.

That clearly has been used and returned from another buyer.

Both of my 240 and 280 had perfectly aligned protective stickers and no dirt marks.

Return to the retailer if they sold it as brand new, which is clearly not. Was the listing for an opened box item?
