Currently decorating hall and where Virgin cable enters a room will need moved, which requires taking connector off and re attaching new one, can someone point me to exactly which tool/connector i'm going to need?

I'm pretty sure it's just a coax cable, if you amazon search virgin/sky coax cable.

When I built our alcove cabinet I moved ours to a better loction behind cabinet, I just used a small spanner (cannot remember what size).
Theres an external connector, then if you are moving the whole box, you will need to strip that down (just plastic)

But again depending on vintage, internally its just a simialr connector to the external one. Don't think you will need a specalist tool.

The cheap ones screw on, but ideally you'd use the compression ones (as the installers do) https://www.screwfix.com/p/labgear-f-plug-outdoor-connector-10-pack/46242 but they do require the correct tooling to install https://www.screwfix.com/p/labgear-compression-tool-8-200mm/60586 If the phone line comes in at the same place, then thats a sepearte cable and you'd I think need a krone punch down tool for that (though the line A and B on the back of the NTW might be screw terminals? not sure) punch down too isnt dear though and probably worth having in toolbox anyway

I think if you had a fault and they found cheap and nasty screw on F connectors, they'd not be too happy!

Never had an issue with the screw ones. Think the guy was more happy his full install only involved plugging the boxes in and turning them on!

If just an 'F' connector, then you will need to buy a F type coupler...Youtube is so useful here.

Ex satellite and diagnostic engineer myself and what you wrote above is utter ********.

Screw fit F type connectors are fine, even cheap for inside and why would the OP spend out on a compression tool that will be used once....

Please give more details or photo's OP and if just simple, then you have more chance of winning the Euro Millions than screw this one up.
