Jenson wants higher margins for his GPU's, here is how he's going to do it.

I have solar and use the kettle like 7 times a day (from the grid) and my electric company wants me to pay £300 a month. You think I'm gonna have any cash left to buy any gpu for the next 10 years?
Then assess your want for always better, I am sure there is a vast catalogue of untouched older games that run great on todays hardware or older, consoles too.
If it is work related, see if you can gain help.

An older console would likely save you money too by using way less electric; PS2. OG XBOX.

Do we want the company to take a hit on a rainy day? or do we endure and use what we have and our resources meanwhile so that we can come back again and get back onto that path we had before and enjoying the advancement of technology?

The only reason Frenzy laughs is because of his pride and ego investment into the hardware he uses.

The true telling of inflexibility keeping yourself stuck.

Adapt and survive, stay stuck and let the floor cave from beneath you, your choice.

I gave a laughing emoji because you are ridiculing the valid reasons for others to be upset about the current situation and how it has escalated. It's basically, this is my point of view and you are an idiot for not agreeing, business is business and what ever actions are taken are valid because of this fact. It really is like a homage to being taken advantage of. Nuts, sorry I won't jab at you anymore, I just had to respond to your edited comment on the post. kek

Yeah you said the same thing before getting corrected before too.

Seriously, I'm not going to engage in childish arguing :)
I am not even arguing, I am correcting.

It's ok though it takes time to grow into reality or not and be left hung to dry.
There is no changing someone who is not willing to change themselves.
There is no making someone listen when the preconceived mind has decided it is correct.

Regardless of people's opinions on "evil nvidia" or not, is this actually going to work? The last couple of years we have had the "perfect storm" of demand due to high crypto prices and bored people stuck inside with nothing else to do or spend their money on (thanks to covid).

Now we have the eth merge next week which - coupled with ridiculous energy prices - is going to make a huge dent in mining demand. Alongside that, people are out and about again, and spending their much reduced disposable income on other things.

Good luck to them to be honest, we'll see how it plays out - personally I'm happy with my RX6800 for the foreseeable future

No one cares, just sit back with popcorn.

People who are into fanboy wars care but portray it as something else.

I think this was more about business practices rather than an Nvidia vs AMD debate. Like you said, it's business, but that's the problem. It isn't driven by increasing customer loyalty or bring innovation to the market anymore, it's more about increasing profits. I agree, consumers should take back control by not buying.

The thing that attracted me to Nvidia this time around was ray tracing and cuda cores.

Just saw tireds post. If people don't talk about it then nothing will change and we'll have the good old british attitude of keep your head down and carry on. I think your advice to "stfu" is wrong personally.

Not once did i mention AMD, Nvidia don't worry about what AMD do because consumers only want AMD to undercut Nvidia so they can buy cheaper Nvidia GPU's, as a business model AMD can only do so much of that and its not enough due to the value people place on Nvidia, therefore AMD don't come in to it.

"Because Nvidia are worth more" is often said by consumers.

There will be some who buy purely for the kudos or bragging rights, I will be buying on price and performance, nothing else, I ill pay up to £800, if the performance is extremely good. By that I mean 30% plus.
20% or less and I dont think I would bother.

I've found I've been using my rubbish old Alienware Alpha R1 than my semi-passable gaming PC recently. Playing older games on the sofa has been quite enjoyable.
It's fun to plug the wheel in every so often with Assetto Corsa, but that's about it.

Very tempted to just sell it all off and buy a Steam Deck or alternative.
Definitely can't see myself buying another Nvidia graphics card again, certainly not a new one.

And that is the problem.... you seem to think it's only nvidia at fault here....

Why not just make a thread in general about business practices or mention how every company wants to increase their margins? Why specifically call out only nvidia? Just look at the cpu space, amd are dominating it now hence their pricing/margins and intel are now charging as they should compared to the better/dominating brand in the cpu space.

With amd charging in the same bracket as nvidia then they need to be offering the same feature set, quality and performance too, if people are offered 2 choices at similar prices but one offers more/better, why will a person choose the lesser option? Hence why AMD have/are over taking intel now because amd offer more/better for similar price.

More marketshare = more power, yes well done on understanding.
AMD will do the same if they had all the marketshare.

It's because it is AMD bro, we must lick their feet.

The bias is set, if we don't add AMD at all we have no way of purposely showing we are detracting from the facts all the while either unknowingly or knowingly are.

Right exactly, Nvidia know for the majority of people they are the only option.

If i'm the only one you're willing to buy GPU's from, i'll take advantage of you.
Good business strategy, sad for the losers I guess.
You are only a loser when you declare yourself as one, usually blaming instead of handling ones own self.

And who's fault is it that they might be the only option for those people? I'll give you a clue, it's not Nvidia...
