Hi there,

So i have paired an 12700K ( not OCd) with my oldie but goldie Corsair H115 RGB, the older cooling that was introduced way before LGA 1700.
I have ordered retrofit as per below link, and when paired the standoffs with the cooling and tighten it on CPU the entire thing was very very loose and not tighten at all... and i think it should have made it more tighten not loose instead ... i couldn't cope with that so ive given it a try and installed using the brackets and standoffs for LGA 1151 and surprisingly CPU runs very well under games load etc, the only problem is once running burners, or even a deep scanning from Windows Defender scan will boost temps instantly to 100C .
Has anyone installed successfully the cooling in question using the standoffs provided by Corsair?
Below the link to retrofit

cheers

Are you screwing the standoffs into the motherboard/retention bracket to the end of the standoff thread then putting the cooler on using the screws provided with your cooler and tightened it all down fully?

It's possible. Return them for replacement. That will eliminate the that set being the problem :)
They've been sent from abroad couple months ago. I'm not really bothered sending them back.. During the weekend I'll have the second attempt to try install it using them standoffs, maybe it will work this time.
I've done some more research
... And in listed, compatible coolings, there are listed all variations of h115i except the one I've got, however I think the only difference is that mines got non rgb fans and the other ones have.

Fingers crossed it works second time around. The i means it's compatible with commander pro/core xt and some corsair compatible sodtware like hwinfo (the device connects via usb to mobo for being able to control/read the device speeds) and the rgb well that's self-explanatory. you have the h115I non rgb?. This is exactly as you described, the same device without rgb fans and therefore should be compatible according to the list :)

well i am greatly confused
my model is exactly as this H115i PRO
supported ones : H60, H100x, Platinum, PRO XT, Elite Capellix, and ELITE LCD Series AIO Coolers

so, if we look at it closely my cooling isnt actually listed in there , theres "PRO XT" ... whats the difference

Make sure you’re using the correct stand-off for 1700.
Used one for my 12700K and temperatures was fine, few degrees higher than the EK AIO Basic. The screaming pump was a killer for me.
Tried an Arctic Freezer II 420 and that was truly impressive. Better CPU temp than custom loop shared with 3080 Suprim X dual 420 45mm.
