After many googles I am still unable to get a satisfactory result.

I have heavy duty wall brackets that support 50kg+ but trying to find a shelf of the right size, in the right colour is just a nightmare to find. Most places don't even list the maximum weight a shelf can take.

Can anyone recommend a site where I could order a 90cm-120cm length x 30cm - 40cm width shelf in different colours that can support 40kg+ without the fixings?

Any help appreciated.

Depending on wood/finish you want why not buy a scaffold board and some stain? I imagine they can easily take that (you should really check)

Pretty much any solid wood shelf of that dimension will hold 40kg. I have boards that I can sit on (85 kg, suspended by the very ends) that are 1m long, 9cm deep and 1.8cm thick. As long as your brackets and wall fixing is good you should be ok with anything solid wood

Any local furniture makers, or decent lumbar yards?

I think it'd the brackets for the wall that makes it hard to find. You might have to use those slotted type and have a few of them to spread the load?

A decent timber merchants will help out there.

I've built a lot using the scaffold type size in pine, which is 2cm in depth and can hold a lot more weight than you require over a longer length than you state above. Width wise these boards will fall short, but a basic join can be done, or for a nice finish a biscuit joint will do.

Colour - Paint - stain - natural?
