Why do we have people trying to run things at 4K on a GPU that can barely run GTA V at 720P?

Back when I had a low end laptop (Core 2 Duo with a HD 4570M) I would tweak Windows and tweak things using stuff like Radeon Pro to mess with LOD bias etc, it was how I originally played Bioshock Infinite, Yes I got 27-30 FPS out of that lousy hardware and the game even looked half decent at 480P lol. Went through a stint where I was out of work so..

But instead of using their brains, they are trying to run games at 4K?????

I was browsing twitch last night and saw some woman streamer who must have been like 60 with her boobs basically hanging out, the only thing hidden was the nips.

I don't get why streaming services don't clamp down on it, you wouldn't walk the street like that or sit in a cafe or whatever with 95% of your breasts exposed.
They should be dressing like they would when a friend or family member is visiting

I find it annoying when I watch videos of IGPs and they're playing games they can barely load, let alone run at playable FPS, while old games with huge play numbers on steam get ignored :rolleyes:

That said, videos like this can have meaningful value (even if just novelty value) sometimes.

especially when they know 13 year olds are watching.
and they shouldn't be advertising OF either.

I find it funny that American Pie 1999 has actually became reality. One time you only thought it was stuff you'd see in movies. Not 21 years later on streaming platforms.

there's a whole hot tub channel on Twitch ....... apparently ;)

they get hype trains and subs all day long. I dj on thjere for a few hours and dont even get a chatter haha I need some bewbies !!

Yep, they should show some decorum, but unfortunately YT and TikTok are just full of people exposing themselves for cheap hits.
 
As mentioned it's about money, but there are similar channels (in headline subject matter) like LowSpecGamer that focus on trying to eek performance out of older hardware.

I actually kind of like the concept though, during the GPU shortage last year my son's PC was running a HD 7950, and I liked optimising it so games (not latest demanding titles) would run OK, like ensuring the VRAM would stay under 3GB, using a scaling tool, overclocking etc.
And I've got to be honest, it did open my eyes a bit to how well older cards can run games that were released several years after the gfx card, if you compromise on settings. With rising energy prices however the other factor to consider is actually older cards can be really inefficient, he now has a RX6600 in there which uses about 60% of the power compared to the HD7950 despite being a lot more powerful.
