Well at least Russia is helping the West revert all it's ridiculous policies surrounding it's defense sector. Though some things like the loss of knowledge will take some time to repair at least munitions manufacturing will be getting some overhaul to focus less on being efficient and more on being able to fill stocks on short notice.

If you take Putin at his word... I highly suspect "people with previous military experience" will mean very little in the actual mobilisation.

Can’t see how this ends without regime change. He’ll keep pushing, the west will keep pushing back and eventually something will give.
Meanwhile many peoples lives will be ended for no reason.
As long as he's there yes it's a game of push and shove because Russia are so far down that hole now they are not going back. He'd have to die for something to change atm.
People will die, others will suffer, economies continue to struggle till something gives way. He's backed into a corner now. Let's just pray it never comes to nukes. I would hate to think that's even a.possibility!

We need to give Ukraine further means to push Russia out once and for all. At the end of the day Putin cannot be allowed to win. So enough with the holding back, give all we can, lets get a swift end to Russia in Ukraine.

Perhaps the more important effect is that it extends the contract of existing soldiers.

A handful of MLRS and artillery systems, a few anti tank and MANPADS is the full might of the West. Sorry to break it to you, the West has quite a few more toys in the toy box.

The USA is still holding enough ammo and weapons for its own armies to be able to fight a mobilised China and Russia at the same time, or two near peer enemies at the same time
