@Mr.Cookie

Bosch series 2, model number: SMS25EW00G/51

Had it on a wash and came back to find an E15 check water warning.

I've emptied the dishwasher, the dishwasher is empty of water and the drain is clear.

The dishwasher is trying to pump out, but is just sucking air, the pump is fine as if I put a cup of water in it'll pump it right out.

Tried turning the dishwasher off at the wall for about 30 minutes, none of the controls will do anything.

Oddly the dishwasher is still trying to pump out, even with the door open which is odd as usual when the door is open it shuts everything down.

I'll go check the warranty now as we've not had it that long I don't think, but any ideas?

EDIT: had it nearly 4 years so out of warranty (of course).

Edit 2: Pulled it out and tipped it up backwards, turned it back on and the controls are reset fortunately, so I'm guessing at least the control board is ok.

I've put it on a wash, could completely empty and see what happens.....

Antiflood is activated by the sounds of it, base of most modern dishwasher is a tray with a polystyrene float should the machine leak or overfill water will go into base and lift float.
When antiflood is activated all that will happen is drain pump constantly runs and controls will not work.

You could lean machine over gradually to see if water comes out, sit it on a towel for this, although personally I would have the side panel off of the side I'm tipping just incase of any electronics.

There are a number of reasons for antiflood to occur..
Lower spray arm jammed or split during wash cycle, this creates a wave effect putting water out the door or into base.
Pressure switch or flow meter faulty/blocked this will make the machine overfill again putting water into base.
Internal leak from split hose or hole in some part.

Edit for phone typing what I was saying to the gran kids!

Thanks.

I tried the tipping method and a little water came out, not much mind you. And it seems to be working, I ran it through a cycle successfully.

I suspect that isn't the end of this......

If it does it again I'll pull the front off and get to that fliat, I watched a few YouTube videos so start with that.

Thanks though, knew you would be the best person to ask :)

Golden knowledge by the sounds of it @Mr.Cookie . My Bush's door this week wouldn't close. Looks like a spring and a white plastic assembly but doesn't look jammed.

I work for Electrolux (AEG and Zanussi) if they are like ours probably the whole hinge assembly will need changing, but first thing I always do is take both baskets out as you would believe the number of times they've been the culprit.

OK will do.

If the slot in the door which the bar goes is has something go wrong what does it tend to be that's the culprit?

Thanks.

This happened to me under gauarantee. Had the repair guy out three times and did the tip method between every time as I couldnt not have clean stuff. So it happened 6-7 times but not everytime so it would work for a few then go again and then it got replaced.

OK baskets out and it doesnt close. I can open the top electrical bit to open the front if its any benefit.

Parts that matter on hinges will be behind side panels, I'd guess at new hinges but without seeing it or knowing the appliance like ours it would purely be that.

Its the top one where you use it as a handle on the door. It almost closes and still washes, but the mechanism must be jammed in.

Had the same on a Flavel dishwasher a while ago. There was a split in the seal at the base somewhere which meant a small amount of water would leak into the bottom tray. This triggered the anti flood. I was able to take off the maintenance flap at the bottom at the front and sponge out the water which kept it going for a couple of more tha until it got too tiresome. A nice dishwasher repairman showed me how to do this.

Also make sure the door seals are clean as this caused a bit of a leak on the previous machine as well.

White goods seem very disposable at the current time.
