is a RTX3060 ti worth upgrading from a RTX2060 super

They're 30-40% faster, a nice upgrade but worth £370? Minus what you can sell(?) your 2060 Super, of course, only you can decide that.

Thanks, i was planning to give the 2060 super to the G/f son at xmas.. I also have a GTX1080 i can sell to add some funds... would the normal aftermarket cards drop do you think towards this price level as we head towards xmas and there are more 4000 cards

So far base on Nvidia's announcement it would seem they have every intention to launch 4000 series at overpriced pricing level to co-exist alongside the 3000 series until their inventory almost run dry. The only chance that Nvidia may adjust pricing to the cards is to react to the rumoured AMD launch of the new RX7000 series in November.

Even with that said, as AMD is most likely going to launch their higher-end RX7700, RX7800, RX7900 cards first, and with both Nvidia and AMD won't be launching new sub £500 cards yet in the near future, I think pricing for the cards at the sub £500 segment would remain largely unchanged; but with the Pound value continue to plummet and with retailers keep clearing their inventory for the current gen cards, if anything the pricing for them may even slightly bounce back up toward the end of the year or along with the new gen cards launch.

It will certainly be noticeable. I guess you may have it cost you about £200 after selling your 2060 super.

If it was me, i would likely wait till the new 4060/4060ti/4070 are announced + Intel's stuff + New AMD stuff.

The 3060ti is nearly 2 years old now and could see price cuts/new cards offering better price/performance soon.

But then the pound has tanked so....

It is a tricky time to know to be honest. Ordinarily and at every other new generation, i would say definitely don't do it with new stuff just around the corner. Today? not sure.

Yeah, unless AMD or Intel decide to launch something good at a lower price point (unlikely), I think it'll be a long wait (6+ months) before the sub £500 market is refreshed. Based on (recent) past, AMD will just copy NVIDIA and slot them in above the existing cards.

Also think by the time comes round for the 4xxx those 3060ti's will be gone.
Also even if there are still stock for 3060ti and other lower tier cards just prior to the 4xxx launch, as soon the people that are not up-to-date with tech news see for themselves that Nvidia and AMD only launching high-end new gen cards but not for the lower segment and the new gen high-end cards launch is having no impact of reducing the pricing of the lower tier cards, they would be scrambling to buy cards within their budget and the last of the stocks would probably be depleted at a even faster pace during the launch period of the Nvidia RTX4xxx and AMD RX7xxx.

@Kurgen

Well all FE cards are in stock right now even the 3080 and 3070s. Only one not available is the 3090 FE in stock. So if you can find a but more money maybe just grab a 3080 for £649 and call it a day for a good few years and not have to worry about a gpu, the only 3 cards worth it right now really are the 3080,3070 and 3060ti FEs. If buying new.
