If he believes what he is saying - this ain't gonna stop even short of nuclear war - he was framing it as a righteous crusade and if he is buying into the stuff he is spouting with righteous fervour he isn't going to back down until he has nothing left to use. So lets hope he doesn't actually believe the stuff he is saying.
He has gone mental, similar to, or an actual conspiracy theorist, like my dad and someone elses dad on this forum.
Its strange thing to happen tbh.
Basically all his actions are just bad when viewed strategically or logically.
The game is equal now in that all players are playing an infinite game.
If we go back to day 1 of the ukraine war and put me as putin, my only option would be to nuke a nato territory, ideally an island somewhere, minimal casualties.
Point being, i would tick all the boxes on paper, and say, lets go nuclear war, or you will forever **** off.
Then, ukraine would not get any assistance anymore, not food, not weapons, not training, and not intelligence.
The war would go much better, would still be bloody, but it would not be impossible.
