Energy Prices (Strictly NO referrals!)

Company I work for are hopeless for wasting energy, the main office being a prime example. No-one can decide on correct temp so they have Aircon set to 21 with windows open. You then have individuals who say they're freezing so have little fan heaters under their desks.
Sounds like they need someone to manage them.

Yeah metering specialist for EDF but moved into other fields along the way.

Well, if the meter guy says it's okay! :D

I've already once taken the seal off the fuseboard anyway to do rewiring, so it's just a simple cable switch job IIRC, should all be the same size.

Forgot to mention, this is on a prepayment meter as well, so am I right in thinking that if SSE noticed and weren't happy, the most they could do is rip the THTC out? Because they seem completely unwilling to do it if you ask, so it would be a win/win really.

What you dok on the inside of your own house is up to you, I do not condone or recommend doing however, making use of your off peak circuit makes the most sense for you right now. Just make sure you have some use running on the peak circuit as well.

I did read a research PDF written around 2020 about THTC that SSE commissioned - they expected up to 85-90% of total consumption would be on the cheaper rates, or something like that. Maybe it was 80%, but they did mention an optimal ratio.

Right now it's a 0/100 ratio. And they're laughing all the way to the bank with it.

So British Gas have finally sent me my bill for this month - 5 days late and only for my gas (£20 for 2nd Sept - 29th Sept, yippee!). My electricity bill is still MIA though, I guess they are really struggling with their billing system to apply the £66 credit

[Edit] I'm on the SVT too

Still good on TOU/trackers.

18p unit during the afternoon today, and gas is 5.61p lower than even the April cap.

Normal tariffs just feel so dated now, going to be really gutted when this expires next July.

Anyone with EDF that have already had two £66 credits added to their accounts in the past 2 days?
My DD isn't until the 15th but I assume the £66 refund will appear in my bank account a few days later. Supposed to be one a month for the next six months.

I had nothing, not even a bill for September as I gave them my meter readings at the end of the 30th. No DD rebate, no bill, no news at all

No rebate on Octopus yet, I assumed would be done on DD date.

Still waiting for my 66 to arrive from Scottish Power.

Anyone got theirs?

Honestly its only the 5th of the first month! Give your suppliers a chance, they have had less than three weeks to get this setup and rolled out it's not as simple as everyone expects it to be!

You will get the rebate, it's your legal right!

Just wait a while and let the suppliers do what needs to be done before jumping up and down about it!

(I work for EDF not in the office, I'm a supply engineer, the opinion above is my own and nothing has come from the company today!)

You think you have it bad with BG, these are all the bills they sent me in the past year... that last one months ago was only for 2 months of gas. Smart meter for electric is sending usage and i give them gas readings every month..

I see that Scottish Power have subsequent to our last quarterly bill, introduced late payment penalties:

Looks like I'll be better paying the bill in a timely manner rather than accruing reminders until I hear the bailiff's van door closing at the end of the drive ;)
