.Glad the thread title delivered. That was the sanitised second attempt
Here’s a close up of the bottom. Is that sealant likely the issue?

Come to think of it, it’s the first time I’ve really had a close up look at it and the finish is pretty poor.
I dealt with the NHBC on a previous house and to summarise, unless the house was at risk of imminent collapse, they weren’t interested.

I don’t know for certain, but knowing how the typical English tradesman works, I suspect there was an “Oh **** I’ve cut the sill too short” moment which was resolved with the very big sealant gun.Why have you got a block of C4 to the left of the step
Have you also sealed around the bottom of the architrave and that C4

Underneath the sill seems to be sealed fine. Although I can’t imagine that would matter too much as the water wouldn’t be able to work it’s way back up in there?

So, before I go picking at my back entrance and possibly making the problem worse

At least it was your back door and not your back passage with the problems![]()
That has a whole other set of problems which do not belong in the home and garden forum! At least it was your back door and not your back passage with the problems![]()
