It appears the car park of my new flat is a death trap for cars in the autumn. I currently have a hire car which has been dented to hell from all of the falling acorns. I obviously don't want this happening when I get a new car, so what would be the best option to protect my car? I was looking at car covers as a few others in the carpark use them, but I don't know if it would actually stop the dents or just reduce them?

The ones on this tree seem bigger than average, and the tree itself is actually really big so I guess the extra distance falling is doing enough to cause slight dents

Maybe a car cover with something like a neoprene camping mat underneath it? Should provide more than enough padding to stop amy damage. Or those yoga mats, probably a bit cheaper.
