Energy Prices (Strictly NO referrals!)

you have no potential to set a fixed price contract for X months , or that £1.30 is, already, it ?
with the current high wind generation, you might hope a variable contract could be offering better, but winter is unknowable.
Not in contract. £1.30 is "deemed rate" , standing charge is £2.65

It's a new building we're moving into, lease was only signed recently ... so no energy contract is in place yet. Not sure where the usage for last month is coming from either as it's basically sitting empty.

I await the carnage as suppliers bill people and automatically refund them any balances in credit. People might not realise this, spend the money over Christmas, then wonder why their energy bills are in the red, or why their providers are breathing down their neck to increase their payments.

Luckily I spotted the now three refunds heading my way and have already received one of them. As soon as I get all three, EDF can have it all back again. I don't want my balance heading into the red, I also don't want to be making top-up payments to null my balance, nor do I want EDF telling me that I should increase my direct debit because they decided to refund all my credit back to me when usage is typically mid-way into the peak.

I've been having a riot with EDF today. They literally do not understand their own billing system and why my statement of account shows different amounts to what is shown in my bill. I have given up trying to understand it all and hope that the lovely poor agent I spoke with today can when they call me back next week.

I got it as credit to my energy account rather than DD to my bank account. I actually prefer that but I I'm left wondering why the change of tack. They were adamant about paying it back to my bank account

It could just be the way they are using their system for the refunds, BG have given me a £66 credit, then they will "refund" that £66, so it appears now as another £66 debit which is pending entry into my bank account on the 10th. Its possible that you are still awaiting the latter half of the process?

Or aggressively load shift on a product like Octopus GO (faster). With investment obviously.

90% of my electric is off peek at 7.5p. Going to save £1500 a year going to pay back my investment in about 6 years.
Yep. Act on it and look to do something about it. Too many complainers

For electric? That's quite a lot. Think the highest we've been is 10, usually between 7-8 and that's with two of us home all day...

Depends on your circumstances, in prior years my household has done 1000kwh in a month and averaged 700 to 800 most months that year. My circumstances have now changed and we are back down to 230kwh a month in the same house.
