I think I'll upgrade my old gtx 1080.

Is a new 3090ti FE a good buy for £1150.

Or should I wait to see the RDNA 3 cards from AMD?

I don't play esports but do like to game close to 4k.

My PSU is a HX1000 Plat and my Monitor is 4k - 60fps.

3090ti is Madness at £1150, a 1080 is still capable to run any game for a few more weeks.
Wait for all the new gpus to launch, then make an informed decision based on the reviews.

Better if you can bag a 3080 FE at its RRP of 649.

Compared to almost 2K for the 4090 it is not bad
Well no, in that regard of course it isn’t, but , factoring in the undeniable truth that we’ve been effectively massaged into the belief a £1k GPU somehow represents good value which of course it never was, then my opinion stands.
