Hello OC :)

It's been a while since I posted here but I need advice and the best way to go forward with the marketplace how it is and also if Overclockers store can help me out also. I have been saving up for a new GPU for almost two years now and while the 4000 series are coming out as of today and then the 4080s in November it's shocking to say that the prices for them are way too much for my wallet. That being said I'm not fussed about getting a 4000 series. As of right now, I'm using GTX 1660ti and while she;'s still a good midrange card for 2019, she's struggling in regards to what I do and I need more power and also to be able to run games on higher settings.

So need advice on what I should do regards when to buy? Wait till the black Friday sales in November and see what I can get hold of then.? But the market at the moment is not looking good what I see, meaning as weeks and months go by I'm seeing fewer and fewer 3000 series cards on the market and also not to mention I have not seen many prices deducted. It doesn't help me at all.

I'm looking for the highest card that I can get for my money at a very good deal. Looking to get an RTX 3080 from either from gigabyte Or Asus for the 12gb edition or 10gb edition. I was looking at around £700 but I might be able to push it even more for around £800 it depends on what the market is and what Overclocksers are a store can do for me....?

Advice thanks ;)

Would you not consider saving some cash with a used 30 series card? There will be loads apeparing in the MM shortly no doubt!

I'm into new than secondhand ;)

If you can wait a few more months then we should have a better view of the GPU landscape.

Or worse, I mean no one knows right? I'm seeing more being out of stock and I do not think we are seeing more in stock

The best deal available right now (new) is the 3060 Ti FE at MSRP (or a discounted AMD 6xxx) - once they're no longer available I think everything's going to jump up a tier in pricing.

Buying new 3000 series makes no sense now.

You're buying old tech brand new - it makes no sense.
what I mean is not buying a used card.. Getting hold of an unsealed card XD

How can people afford to get hold of a 4000 series anyway? CRAZY unless you had that money. Would they release a budget card down the road like a 4060 LOL

What is the specs of your system that you want the new card for ? CPU, PSU, monitor resolution, etc etc

It depends on the pricing, buy a 3080 for £800 is not good that should be the price of a 4080 now.
Buying a new 3080 with 2/3 years warranty for under £500 would make sense but it wont happen.

The time to buy was 2/3 weeks ago when they dipped in price, now they have risen because stocks are getting short.

The best bang for your buck will come from this 6950xt for £830 at moment, but maybe call them up and see if they can do it for £800 for you as they had it at that a few weeks back. That way you have a card that's a little more future proof too with 16GB VRAM.

If you care about Nvidia cards only and want cuda, or any Nvidia feature then this is only sensible Nvidia card for the money :-

£728.99 12GB 3080.

2nd hand 3090 are going for £700-800 in used market, bit rich for me TBH but the 6800XT and 3080 were not much slower than the flagships. 10GB on the 3080 doesn't feel enough, but should be a banger for a while at 1440p

What makes you think that the 4080 would be that price? I have seen so far that they might be starting at £900
that should be the price of a 4080 now

The boat has sailed with the 3xxx pricing my 3090 I got for brand new 3 weeks ago was £899! Its £1289 on OCUK. Actually just looked its back down to £1199.

second hand market, think they'll come down a bit more; but not sure if the VRAM has been mullered or not so it's a gamble. That 12GB 3080 should perform about the same, so it's a premium on VRAM

They have shot up everywhere now most stores have reduced their stocks and some are even priced at £1.7k in some places and they have 3090ti for £1200 while trying to sell 3090s for more. Reason being hoping for some wanting a pair to nvlink as nvidia didn't make the placement standard so you need same cards for the bridge to fit...

This whole 4090 thing and pricing is not helping either with the 30 series as they are all slowly creeping up now again the AIB cards.
