Lost 3 fps in Quake 2 rtx after reinstalled system on 12900K.

Hi pc:

12900K with NZXT KRAKEN X73 ( 50-60C in game )

2x16GB DDR4 KINGSTON DDR4 3600MHZ in GEAR 1

RTX 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming

Aorus Z690 Elite DDR4 bios F5

SSD 1 TB NVM PCIE

Before system reinstall i had when i was starting quake 2 rtx 108fps. After clean system and reinstall i have now 105fps. I installed everything and the same drivers. Any ideas why?

I have 1440P,RTX ( automatic selection ), Global Illumination HIGH.

I closed all programs,only steam,game is on. Also Windows 11 game mode is to off too. Gpu sheduling on in windows 11.

I tested 3dmark speed way and score are similiar like before reinstalling win11.

Is any way to increase that fps? Thx.

There’s so many variables. We are talking about millions of lines of code in the OS/drivers etc.

Who knows, but 3fps is margin of error stuff at that kind of frame rate.

Just play the game and have fun and don’t worry about it.

If it was 50% performance loss I would be worried.

You could have different driver settings for image quality and stuff, check that.

Realistically without even looking at an fps counter, do you think you'd notice the difference between 105 and 108? - FYI you wouldn't.

You could try reinstalling the sofa to see if that fixes it.

Ok its fine . I launching game and again 108 fps and its better. So resolved.

It could literally be a run to run variance or the room temperature increasing by a couple degrees.

Try not to worry about it.

This looks like a significant loss of performance and I suspect you need a complete system rebuild to restore the lost 3fps. In situations like yours that can be the difference between a fluid game and a slide show or powerpoint presentation. I'd strip the system right down to all of it's components, carefully clean everything with a clean cloth and air duster and re-assemble. Report back when you've tried this.
