So I've been with TalkTalk UFO (FTTP) in York since around 2016. Apparently TalkTalk created a company called FibreNation for providing FTTP in York, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon and that got sold to CityFibre a couple of years ago. CityFibre were going to keep the networks separate but then they changed their mind. I got marketing stuff through the post in the spring from CityFibre, Vodafone and a few other ISPs. I went on the postcode checker last month on the CityFibre website out of curiosity and it gave me a list of suitable ISPs - Gigaclear, Vodafone, Xen etc. All the postcode checkers on the individual ISP websites said my street was covered and gave me prices. But now the CityFibre website says their network isn't in my street and none of the same ISPs I checked last month give me FTTP prices anymore, only FTTC prices. All say they don't have FTTP in my street whereas last month they did.

Then got an email from TalkTalk today telling me my UFO contract needs to end next month due to obsolete equipment (Huawei?) and they'll soon contact me with an alternative. The TalkTalk website is only offering me FTTC now. So is that it? No more FTTP in York? Have CityFibre abandoned it?

I presume when they say they will contact you with an alternative, they will do that. So just wait a bit.

If you have concerns then post here https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/UFO/bd-p/ufo

Thanks- I'm a member of that forum and there is some mention of a stop sell on UFO there but no one really seems to know what's happening so thought I'd see if anyone here knows any more.
btw, I just noticed, we both joined ocuk forums 18 Oct 2002!

Yep have done this evening. Fingers crossed they'll get back to me with an answer soon with what they're doing here in York.
Was wondering if you've had any reply? I've had an email that says:

But we’re pleased to let you know that TalkTalk are in the final stages of launching our latest full fibre broadband service to your area. With average download speeds of 944 Mb/s, it offers the ultrafast speeds that you love, and will include our latest generation of Wi-Fi router, the Amazon eero Pro 6. We expect it to be available in November.

Once it becomes available, we’ll be in touch and provide more information about the eventual Ultra Fibre Optic closure dates, and what your options are, including switching to our latest full fibre service.

It sounds promising but I am worried I'm going to get a massive price increase for a similar service. I'd like to know as early as possible what prices and tiers they're offering. At this point I think I will be accepting a reduced speed service, in order to pay a lower price.

I've just had the same message mentioned above 'UFO with talk talk ending, does anyone have any futher news from TT?

The price will go up as you've been paying a trial price since it was introduced.
My UFO contract started August 2017 trial/ start price £21.50 followed by reasonable increases, price now £27.50 including all phone calls which is great, so not trial price. contract ends next month have been told will have have to be with city fibre, sadly the price with phone could be double. or I could go back to copper wires and leave the fibre optic tube in the ground.

Vodafone 100/100 (Cityfibre) is £25 per month. FTTC (copper) is unlikely to be much cheaper.

CityFibre emailed back to say because of block paving in my street I can't get their service which is why the availability checker drawered a blank. Which is a bit odd as I've had UFO (FTTH) with TT since 2016  They then did something with the availability checker so now my street is shown as being within their network and all the providers now concur. TT are currently offering 900/900 for £50/month with the Amazon eero Pro 6 on their website so if they up my bill to that I'll be off pronto! But £36 has been mentioned on the TT UFO forums so I'll wait and see what they decide to do.

Today I got a flyer through the door from Zen "3 months free" for York residents with CityFibre. The small print on the flyer mentioned "1 months [sic] free broadband" and then the website https://zen.co.uk/yorkoffer small print reads "2 months free broadband". Not the best of first impressions from Zen if they can't be bothered to proofread their small print.

Email from TT today, which reads option one " stay on existing and move to £36 per month you'll be out of contract so can upgrade with us at any time" no estimated speeds given not sure if it's fibre optic still?
Option 2 "Move to a new matching UFO contact 18 months £36 average speeds 900 Mb/s" so could be with TT or City Fibre? I did call TT sadly they were unable to advise said someone would ring back in a few minutes but didn't.
Looks like £36 a month will be available.
When I enter postcode on TT it tells me only one option available, £19.95 Download 11 Mb/s & up 1 Mb/s even though I've been getting UFO with TT since 2017.

Are you out of contract at the moment? I'm still in contract AFAIK.

Informed today they (TT) will have the relevant packages and pricing 8th November, will let you prices then.
