Hi. I just put in an i7-3770, and according to HWmonitor and CPUZ its always running at 3.9GHz. I was expecting it to run at 3.4GHz or less when idle. Its always at 3.9 even when Task Manager says the CPU usage is at 1-4%. Although Task Manager says (Next to the % usage) 1.67GHz.
Any ideas? I turned off Intel turbo boost in BIOS but that just keeps it at 3.4 all the time, even when under 100% load. There is very little if any increase of power usage or increase of temps so I'm not too bothered, but is it right?
