They are the same price for my car, which is "better"?

Grip and longevity are the main criteria.

PS5 not listed in Blackcircle for my size 205/50 R17.

What does the OCUK motor crowd favour these days, last time it was PS4 but it was a few years ago now.

I personally found the Goodyear F1AS5 on my S2000 better than the PS4, had more feedback, could not say on longevity but I think Goodyear is now very much on a par with Michelin.

You know there's a massive thread on tyres at the top of the page, right? :D

Impressed with F1A6, I think longevity is much better too, but the car they're on doesn't do massive miles so can't really comment. If they're cheaper, go with the goodyears.

F1A6 is better than the Pilot Sport 4. Very unusually for Michelin, the PS4 didn't wear very well and was quite a bit more than the comparable Goodyear at the time of release (F1A5?) - which is not good. You don't mind paying a bit more for a tyre if you know it's going to last 30-50% longer, but if not, it's a bit pointless. Michelin obviously realised this because on the PS5, it appears that a large part of the development on it went on making it last much longer.

The Eagle F1A6 is a very good tyre, well priced and will last a reasonable amount of time.

I'd also say the PS5 is quite a step on wet grip as well, I felt that though the PS4 was good in the wet, the PS5 was a bit like voodoo magic was happening.

F1AS6 and PS5 both superb tyres!

Can confirm this. The last set of PS4s I had performed great, but only lasted around 9k miles. This is on an E class as well, not something sporty I was flinging around on its door handles.

Personally I'd go for the AS6, only cause a couple friends have them on their higher than standard power BMW's and both inspire confidence when cornering hard, they also had PS4's before and had the same complaint they didn't last too long

Surprises me to read about high wear rates on the PS4s as I’ve always found them hard wearing, spookily so for such a good grip tyre.

From the sets I've had PS4Ss wear well but the PS4s are pretty poor wear wise.

I put PS4s on our Mini and they are wearing quickly I don't think they'll last much past 10-12k on the front where the Pirelli's that came off it still had 6mm at 17k. Changed the Pirelli's as they were comically bad in the wet and a unrepairable puncture gave me an excuse to change them all out.

I wanted to put Goodyear Super Sports on it but couldn't get stock in the size at the time I needed them.

I've found both the PS4 and PS4S to wear very well, especially so considering how far ahead of the competition they were for performance for so long.

Might be the compound is different depending on size of PS4s affecting wear. I didn't think much of the posts on wear of PS4s until I got a set and surprised how quickly they are going down the performance is great other than that.

There was a different compound/version available when I got them and I got the newer one can't remember what it was called but doesn't seem to have made a difference in wear.

When I had PSS & PS4 on my A6 the wear rate was tremendous. Had to throw the rear PSS away when I refurbed the wheels due to deformation, but they still had some life left after 40,000 miles...

Personaly Mitchelin, I had major problems with Goodyear. sounded like wheel bearings were noisey driving down the road, was a new Honda Civic with about 7000 miles on the clovk, I;ve had Mitchelin kast up to 25000 miles.

I always seem to gravitate back to Goodyear no matter what my car starts on. My Octy vRS had P Zero's all round - went through all this last year, cost vs performance. Everyone was recommending the Michelin's - but I couldn't get them at a price close to where I could get the AS6's.
So I've now got a couple of AS6 on the back and P Zero's on the front - about six months and then I'll look to be back to Goodyear all around.
Not had any hairy moments since the AS6' went on.

F1A6 hands down just got them on my cls and WOW! They really are as good as the reviews make them out to be
