Hi all I'd like to fit a light into my glass cabinet full of nice wine glasses etc. I already have a mains socket inside the cabinet behind the pull out drawers so I could loop an extension lead out from this.

Could anyone give an indication of what types of light they would recommend should buy? /any other thoughts?

Im not sure how I'd wire it out of the swihc?

I was thinking downlights similar to below. How many do you think best? Each side of the cabinet about 40cm wide

Recessed downlight

Alternative option - I think this would show too much cable?

Id also like it to be activated on a proximity sensor, I was thinking plugging into a hive plug socket (which I already have - I will loop an extension lead to the top of the cabinet) then buying a hive proximity sensor and putting near door? unless there is an easier way/inbuilt ones which aren't ugly?

Looks great. But would it not have been easier and cheaper to use a couple battery or USB rechargable, proximity LED sensor lights that you can get off Ebay/Amazon for a couple of quid, stuck to the ceiling of the unit?

Yes thats what I did on the other side of the utility room. I just figured I had power already in for this so might as well (i bought the house with this room ready made, just painted all untis and changed the worktops). Saves me changing the batteries but my other battery ones are holding strong!
