As I said on the other thread, the ball bearing fans are far too loud, whether they be faulty or not.
I’ve got the Airo which uses BB fans, but not sure if the other 2 Zotac models use the same fans?

This is what both my RMA’d cards sounded like..

I’ve a 3rd arriving later today and fingers crossed it’ll be quieter.

As per the main thread got a refund on my Zotac Trinity OC due to 2 issue i found with the fans , 1 was they had a buzzing sound at desktop when set to 100% but under no gpu load and the second was a spike in the rpm for a split second that would give a double rpm reading , not sure if the 2 issues were related or not . Apart from the fan issue the card itself was perfect and had zero audible coil whine even when it 400+fps but the fans did have issues on mine . Another member on here had the rpm spiking issue also . If you do have issues with your then OCUK will be on hand to help swiftly :)

Thanks guys for those who responded so far. Also from the 4000 thread... https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/nvidia-4000-series.18948098/page-157#post-36002387

My zotak also has no coil whine and very quiet fans
My Zotac has no coil whine at all, but the fans aren't very quiet. I'm not sure, but I think there's a quiet bios on it? There's some button next to the 12pin socket, which I assume the the quiet bios. Any knows if this is the case?
For context I was using 3090 FE before, which has super quiet fans but noticeable coil whine.

Do you guys have well insulated cases and are they on or under your desk? :)

5000D airflow and it's under my desk, the fan case makes much more noise than GPU
Thanks mate, so no issues with it from your side then? :)

I am more concerned about noise levels when idle than when gaming as when gaming there is always sound on.

No issues with mine here.

PC is sat on a desk GPU is vertically mounted if it makes any diff, Zotac RTX 4090 Trinity Non OC
Case is a Lian Li 011 XL

low noise, headsets on problem solved.
When idle I have no headset on so was just making sure there was no annoying sound while I work as I do like a quiet and unobtrusive rig. :)

Thanks mate, is it pretty much silent at idle?

Can we please have some owners coming to give their views on fan noise and coil whine to give a wider range of samples? :?

I have a plain Zotac Trinity and a Superflower 850W PSU and there's no coil whine and fan noise is not an issue.

How did the third Zotac go. Fan noise resolved? I've used the Be Quiet! case before switching to the Lian Li 011 XL and I miss it honestly but the Lian is better for space.

Thanks to everyone who gave input I do appreciate it. I have asked OCUK to cancel my Zotac 4090 order, I have just read too many reports of fan issues, and people sending them back, for my comfort. As others have said there is no excuse for using such low quality fans on a £1700 GPU and I guess this is where the cost-cutting comes into play with the "budget" (I use the terms loosely) brands. I am going to hold on until Q1 2023 when AMD cards are available, supply has increased and the brand choices are easier. Not to mention a ton of new and more reasonably priced ATX 3.0 PSU's will be released by then. :)

No noise at all buddy. At idle fans are 0 rpm and no odd noises at all.

no issues here either, dam thing's very quiet. Don't think I've seen the fans over 40%, great airflow in case though.

Two weeks now with the Zotac 4090 Extreme Airo and overall I'm really happy with the card, driving 2x 4k screens, 1x 60hz and one 144hz and the fans never come on even when watching 4K content. No coil whine on mine that I can hear and I really hate noise like coil whine, and when the fans do spin up they are pretty quiet, my case fans which are the newer Corsair ML fans with 8 LEDs drown the card out.

When gaming the card spends the majority of the time at a 30% fan speed but it's pretty rare to see it it go over 40% and this is in an Phanteks Evolv X case with a custom front panel for more airflow, but still not a great case for keeping things cool but the heatsink on this card is doing a great job. Card is usually at 55c to 65c when gaming in games like The Division 2, Destiny 2 and Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Out of all the Nvidia cards I've had over the years whether AIBs or Founders this is the coolest and quietest card that I've had so far, really impressed with the cooler.

Over the years I've had routers and even Logitech MX mice which have had coil whine and plenty of GPUs that have sounded like a bees nest so I can pick up even quiet coil whine pretty well and this Zotac is honestly very quiet.

Good and detailed feedback thanks mate!

Does it fit the case ok? I.e. can you get side panel on ok with the cable. I'm looking at a 4090 and I have that case

Yea it fits perfectly, only cable is touching the side panel a little bit, but my bending starting from the half of length.

So far I haven't got any issues.

Thanks bud. Thanks for the picture for reference. Nvidia really did spec an ugly cable
