Hi all

I have two kids, 7 and 5. They currently have amazon fire HD 8 tablets. The oldest one has broken here screen, so ive been looking into a replacement. Now ive found out the youngest one has broken hers too.

I hate the amazon tablets. Getting youtube kids on them is a right ball ache, and they often suddenly stop playing pre downloaded apps/games/media when not on wifi.

Ive got a Samsung A8 tablet, and i'm quite happy with it, it does all i need, so i was thinking about the A7 lite. size wise its about right, and you can get heavy duty cases etc, but i have no experience making them child safe in terms of content. Has anyone done this and can offer any advice?

Thanks

Android with a Supervised account is pretty good. You get full management over their content, apps and the amount of use they're allowed via the Family Link app on your device.

thanks, ive looked into a bit and it does look quite good.

They arent used to games with adverts and "in app purchases" constantly popping up. hopefully i can find some reasonable games that i can buy for a few quid to get rid of the ads.

Great to know this as I've been considering moving away from iOS.

Can parent control features be applied to an ipad but controlled on an android phone?

Family Link is really good mixed with Play Pass, its worked really well with my daughters tablet and phone.
Also dont forget the Youtube Premium Indian VPN hack to get rid of youtube ads if its worth it to you. I pay 189 rupees (about £1.90) a month for Youtube family

Off topic but did you set up a throwaway account for that? I remember looking into how to set it up and it requires you to set your account location as India.
