That wasn't the point I'm getting at here though.

It's just basic probability; how likely is it that a guidance failure causing this hasn't occurred once so far but then occurs in two missiles independently on the same day!

There's perhaps the issue that the wrong coordinates were programmed into both missiles in the first place rather than a guidance failure per se, there's also the issue that Russia did it deliberately to test the West and cause a bit of chaos among allies who are now scrambling to debate a response.
