OP
Had another quote through - 4100 to do a combi and redo some of the pipework. Seems a proper system is almost double the cost. I hope it's worth it!!!
Would you do Hep2o under the floor or insist on copper?
Latest bloke has suggested a top of the range combi and new rad circuit all on plastic.
If it is plastic I can do it myself and get just a boiler man in...
Na spot on the 7k job excludes some of the downstairs rad moves so may still be on that one myself.Aye as above, plastic for the majoroty tbh
i even lagged mine and then whacked sheets of the 12cm jablite under the floorboards
a tad overkill but was cheap at the time, jablite is bloody expensive now
but exactly this yes do all yer runs n rads yerself.
just get the plumber to do the boiler hookup, save you a chunk on labour.
inserts and the proper cutters are a must, dont ferget a handfull of isolators too
EDIT i may have been s free pages behind l
Not in detail but ballparks I had heard were upwards of 25k.Have you had an ASHP quote? With the £5k grant, presumably the upfront costs wouldn’t be that disimilar.
You’re already doing a lot of the work required with the radiator replacements, new pipe work and the unvented cylinder.

And you need to fully insulate your external walls. Not in detail but ballparks I had heard were upwards of 25k.
