if you say limited you can put prices higher
I think people have seen through the false scarcity nonsense now.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Just to add to what the other poster said, the reason for the NDA is so that shops can have stocks on shelves for launch. They don’t want shops trying to leak or create their own reviews, or selling stuff early. So it will be part of the sales contract. So how does it work exactly?
Does the retailer get stock in before 13th December launch?
Or on December 13th, the cards are released from the manufacturers to allow the retailer to buy stock in from companies like Sapphire, asrock, etc?
What favours would I need to perform to ensure one for launch day?Nope.
Product shall be made available as and when we have stock after NDA lifts. Stock shall be limited.
Retailers know there is more hype around this card than the £1300 4070 they currently have gathering dust on their shelves so it makes sense to create a bit of FOMO around the 7900XTX try and drive the price of it up so customers wanting next gen are denied a cheaper option and may also push a few onto the 4070.if you say limited you can put prices higher
The rumours always seem wrong on this (promising good supply and then it turns out to be poor). Was hoping the supply would be decent.![]()
Proves my point. They make APU instead of GPU (discrete).I thought they supplied Xbox and PlayStation with their GPUs?
That's very interesting. I had no idea that shops were bound by a NDA.Just to add to what the other poster said, the reason for the NDA is so that shops can have stocks on shelves for launch. Same, hoping to have the same luck as I did with the 5800x3dgot a half day off work on the 13th, so god willing i'll have fingers crossed and ready to hopefully get a 7900xtx
1400hrs GMT someone said. Is that right? Something to do with Stateside waking up?got a half day off work on the 13th, so god willing i'll have fingers crossed and ready to hopefully get a 7900xtx

As usual too with AMD expect the prices to go upwards after the first batch of cards have sold out, first batch usually has price support from AMD to keep the prices close to reference (at least that's what used to happen).
AMD barely make any cards, maybe they should sell that division to Samsung or whoever.
Compared to the 6000 series launch, what do think the inventory levels will be like compared to 2020, likely to be less or just a bit more than last time?Nope.

If I remember the 6000 series launch correctly it was essentially a bunch of reference designs (also from 3rd parties) initially before the 3rd party designed cards followed. The reference designs never really went back in stock at all from any 3rd parties and it was only AMD themselves after that initial launch. I imagine reference designs will be limited again in that regard however at least we know custom versions SHOULD be coming on launch day this time.Compared to the 6000 series launch, what do think the inventory levels will be like compared to 2020, likely to be less or just a bit more than last time?

I'd personally expect 4080-type pricing once the AIB XTX cards hit with the XT being 100ish lower...
Exactly it's all artificial stock limiting to make the prices go up after the release, people need to wake up to the fake msrps game and how after the day of release the few at msrp never seen till people stop buying and then come back down to msrp or less. They are basically playing all the FOMO crowd every release now.I think people have seen through the false scarcity nonsense now.
If you're going from London, you'll pass OcUK before getting to Bolton. Why not stop there?I need to decide if i chance it online or go to Bolton and pick one up at 2pm... from London lol
