THE DEVIL HAS A CRACKING DEAL FOR YOU FOR BLACK FRIDAY!! (6800 XT DEVIL @ £599 DELIVERED)

Expecting a brand new 6800XT for £499 isn't realistic at this point, just take a look at the Bay, the going rate for used versions of the 6800XT is north of £500. Paying another £70/£80 for card that can be returned in 14 days, hasn't got fans that have been run ragged from mining and comes with a full warranty isn't too bad IMO. They might hit £499 or less in the new year once the 7800XT is about to be released.

So your saying ebays second hand prices dictate the prices retailers sell for? Theres me thinking it would be the other way round

No, I'm saying people should check their expectations. OCUK having a handful of cards on one SKU for £600 isn't going to dramatically shift the 2nd hand market, what will move it is a the pending release of it's direct replacement. At that point OEM's will want to shift any remaining inventories (even at a slight loss to themselves) to make space for the incoming shinny new product and that's when you will see the genuine bargains.

There is a higher chance the 6800 XT will go up in price when new stuff lands just exactly the same impact on pricing as 40 series had on 30 series, prices went up.

Surely at this point though there is no need for current gen prices to increase other than greed from companies and retailers? If anything they should come down a little as time goes on, new products release and the pound goes up a slowly

Nah, just greed, now we're supposed to believe that what should have been the launch price of a now 2 year old card is a "great deal".

:D

This is just a bit misleading. 30 series prices went up because there was no replacement at that price point. Totally different story with AMD who price their flagship at $999...

I wouldn't say they dictate, but to brush them aside would be a mistake.

It's a buying platform just like OCUK, and any one who can buy from here will be well versed in looking at other places to buy and the prices.

I highly doubt I will see a 6700xt strix here for £350.

Hmmm, I'm rethinking this one a little. Is it a good deal? no, but then again the whole sector is a rip-off. Is it a good deal in comparison to the ASROCK 6900xt that was one recently? No.

Buutttt...It's very close in performance to the 6900xt, so close with a bit of an OC they'd be pretty much neck and neck, it only requires two 8 pins, lower power consumption and you could also run this on lower wattage PSU.

I think all in all decent @ £600, a really good deal @ £50 cheaper, and NV are providing no competion at all at this price point.

:)

Going to pull the trigger.

I'm going to pass but I do think this is a "reasonable" price, and these Powercolor Red Devil cards are always superb, so you are getting a "premium" 6800xt that will run cool and quiet, I've had 3 Red Devils in the past and they have all been brilliant.

Enjoy your card!

:D
