COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Andrew Bridgen's latest monologue is going to get the debate racing again no doubt. Not sure if any of his points are legitimate but it's already divided options between a few of my social groups.

It would be fine, but it‘s Bridgen, I mean hand in your credibility card at the door. Any debate on that needs a credible advocate and Bridgen isn’t that.

To be clear, if it was a scientist or better still a doctor, fine. A CRG covid denier brexit UKIP loony, not so much.

Oh I totally agree. The fact he's a brexiteer makes him non credible before he even opens his mouth! But his rants always seem to peel the scab a little.

Your friends need to stop being so gullible.

I said social groups. Not friends per se. But I don't judge because people are free to have opinions on whatever they choose to believe. However I tend to steer the conversation away to less contentious things anyway.

Why don't you shut up :(
It's hard to listen to your crap when I'm having to deal with it in a hospital.
You'll probably say 'I only see what I want to see' again.
You probably shouldn't spend so long on this thread. Your work sounds stressful enough without making yourself miserable elsewhere.

I tested positive last Friday, for the second time (the start of may was the first time),only tested because I lost my voice which happened the first time, and I had a cold 10 days previous so was ignoring the cough I had(guess it was a crossover), I only had symptoms (which were very very mild) for 2 days(previous cold was worse) and felt absolutely fine on Monday, although I was still testing positive until late Thursday which shows how easily it can be spread. I only kept testing because my wife is severely immunocompromised and had only had her treatment 4 weeks previously. Strangely though she didn’t catch the previous cold or Covid from me and she was also was testing daily, so got really lucky this time.

Just what do you do in hospital. I no your not a doc we established that one. But you keep on about hospital?. We all allowed opinions though and was it you what i accused you of been a doc by mistake so what do you do at the hospital?. Just because you been told it is covid doesnt mean it is. Like i said i was diagnosed with epilepsy (flashing lights) for 4 years while having seizures. It turned out to be chronic kidney failure. and been seizure free since 2004. Now if started seizure or transplant failed and tested positive for covid it be covid.

Flu going up a lot - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-64002174

I'm not sure if it's flu*, or just a really really bad cold but my dad was pretty close to being in those numbers, and if I wasn't able to be on call in the house 24/7 he would have ended up in hospital, for most of the last week I've been having to wheel him around the house (and the only that stopped me calling an ambulance on Thursday was the fact I'd managed to get a GP's appointment and it was only ~30 minutes later**, but it required two of us to get him in and out of the car).

I would have said it was potentially covid, as we've all got what appears to be the same bug, but we're all testing negative and none of us have lost a sense of taste.

*If it's the flu it's either a strain the vaccine didn't cover, or I hate to think how bad it would have been without it (I'm pretty much alternating between lying down and looking after dad).

**He's got a nasty chest infection on top of whatever else, he's picking up now thankfully due to some antibiotics but still really weak and just getting in/out of the wheelchair is exhausting him.

I've told you before, zero stress sitting behind this chair, I'm watching two football matches, learning a song for tonight and adding an odd comment here and there on Social Media.
It's a forum, I don't know why you think somebody can get upset !!

My brother has had all the classic Delta symptoms rather than Omicron - the first night he was really bad but now couple of days on it is just annoying rather than making him feel properly ill.

Just because you been told it is covid doesnt mean it is.

I am 100% positive that the 1000s of patients we've admitted in our Covid wards have 100% been Covid.

Now if you're talking about somebody above thinking they have Covid then you might be correct, it could be just a cold.
At the moment for a lot of people flu and cold would be way worse than Covid.
I have had verified covid 3 times and for me the symptoms were nowhere near as bad as colds I have but I 100% know my 3 vaccinations helped with that.

What if COVID isn't real though? Crisis actors? Bill Gates?

Now you're in Skipper and Lightfast territory :)

I forgot to tell Skipper my job, I work with actors in the hospital.
The Government gave us millions to pay people who would keep quiet, some were pretending to be patients and some pretending to be nursing staff.
It was nearly blown when a reporter heard two actors learning their lines.
