Is a new Z690 board likely to ship with a bios which supports 13th gen?
1st 13th gen bios released in July so how likely is it new boards in shops now will have that bios or newer?

I normally check recent reviews on the big US tech site and the rainforest, from those reviews it appears that buyers had to use flashback on Z690 boards, as late as November.

I'm thinking specifically the MSI MAG Z690M MORTAR WIFI.
Can't find any info on latest shipments and can't see that it supports flashback.

It is however one of the few good mATX boards which support 13th gen

Me neither, can't find any recent reviews and the I/O panel has no flashback button (odd).

Maybe the Z690M Aorus Elite? It is DDR4 though.

Edit: Asus Z690-G has DDR5 and flashback, I think.

I imagine it'll be the same as usual - you might get unlucky with the manufactur date, but aren't the Z boards high end for Intel side? I'd be surprised if they didn't come with USB flashing

Does it say on the box anywhere, maybe the retailer could check?
Might have to just cross my fingers and hope, then grab a cheap Celeron G6900 if I need to flash the bios and sell it on

I got a Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 about 10 days ago from another retailer and that supported the 13700K I also got out of the box

The Gigabyte mATX board supports it. I'm not keen on Asus, but I could give Gigabyte a try. I've always been happy with MSI so would rather that but the lottery on whether it supports 13th gen is offputting. Any idea how the Gigabyte Z690m Aorus Elite would compare to the MSI Mag Z690m Mortar..?

Edit - Just noticed the Gigabyte is DDR4..
