Hi,and Merry Christmas

Guys I bought a Asus Prime z490 a motherboard as my plan was to have a multiple m.2 drives.

I have plugged one m.2 in to the 1st slot on a motherboard and is fine ( ofc lost of Sata6 port 2 ).

When I insert the 2nd m.2 to port 2 on motherboard the drive are not detected.
So I took it out.

Have an Asus Hyper M.2 x16 v.2 pcie card,so I insert 2 of my other m.2 in to the card at slot 1 and 2 ,the card plugged to pcie x16 port 2 ( changed in Bios to raid pcie x16 ) but still not detected...

I have checked the manual and all is there is Intel-Intel m.2 ??

Is that mean I can't use non Intel m.2's ? Inside the pcie card ? Have to be only Inted branded?

Also ,why the 2nd on board m.2 slot didn't detected the drive?

Hope it all make sense *) or kind of ;) I'm so confused..

Your BIOS manual says it can support bifurcation of 4+4 (4 lanes + 4 lanes) for the Hyper M.2 card (2 slots), if you plug it into the second full size slot.

It says enable hyper m.2 card in the BIOS, but what it means by this, I'm not sure. Are there bifurcation options available for the second PCI-E slot? You want it operating in 4+4 mode.

The board's M.2 slots seem to share lanes with PCI-E slots & SATA ports, so if you have PCI-E add-in cards, or SATA SSDs, which slots/ports are you using?

What are the SSDs you're trying to use?

Where are you looking to see if it is detected? The BIOS? Windows disk manager?

Detecting Intel-Intel might be normal if operating in RAID mode.

Download this manual for your motherboard Intel 400 series Channel BIOS UM (English Edition) and go to page 48

Advanced , on board devices and hyper m2 is there.

Hi Tetras.

I checked in Bios and disk management ,them 2 drives not present.
One is Xray 1TB and second are SKhynix 250GB.

I have 5 SSD in Sata 1,3,4,5,6 Sata 2 is disable because one m.2 is insert to board at slot 1. slot 2 is empty so I can use Sata 5 and 6.

I have tried to add some picture but the side wont accept my shared links ;/

Hi Mickyflinn.

I'm aware about the option and it is on...

What I did...
I updated the BIOS and after that the Hyper M.2 x16 option is gone !! OMG

I removed the pci-e card, default the BIOS and plugged the 1tb m.2 in the the MB slot 2 and ...?? Still not detected!!

I'm powerless... maybe one day I will find someone local to pop-up or via WhatsApp.

I done my best and still no luck :)

Hope u all have a wonderful Christmas ))
