Hi All
Can anyone help me with the wiring of the Rainbow+PWM Hub v1.62 supplied with this case? I'm unsure about the SATA connectors and whether these need to be used to give power. The instructions are extremely vague!
Thanks

sata or large 4 pin molex connectors on pc cases
actual wiring thats part of the pc case that is
yes they will connect to a sata/molex connector from the psu to provide power
usually to a fan hub thats built into the case
or a rgb hub
or to built in led lighting etc
because just connecting them to a motherboard header may not supply
enough power for everything that can possibly be connected to the hub

Thanks. I thought I was on the right track thinking it needed direct power. It’s a strange SATA cable needed though, any ideas? It’s just 3 flat tabs on the end of the hub

Sorry not familiar with that case
And you're right
The user manual is pretty poor
Just basically says connect this hub to psu
But if its some sort of non standard connector
Usually the adapter needed comes with the pc case

This is a picture of the hub showing the 3 pins that require a plug of some sort!?!

Thanks, but I found that before I posted on here! It’s a shame that it doesn’t conclude with the connection solution!

Jump to 8 minutes 50 seconds
You will see a sata power connector on it
Jump to 28 minutes and 30 seconds
And he will explain it

That’s brilliant, thank you. Now just to find one and work out where to plug it in. Happy New Year

It's a connector from your psu
Unless you have a modular psu you don't need
To plug anything in at the psu end
Most non antique psus will have something like
At least 2 cables both with 4 sata connectors on them
Usually there's some that aren't plugged into something already
