Jeremy Renner in intensive care

Blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. From operating his own snow plough, wonder if he got caught up in something that put him in the way.

Either way I hope he fully recovers, can't have them writing off Hawkeye.
 
apparently its from a snow cat - after googling what it is it looks pretty horrific.
Might lose the leg, assuming he survives :(
 
all the reports are saying "weather related incident" which is suppose is KINDA correct, but the Sky report says he left the vehicle to talk to someone and it rolled back on him, which would make it more a case of negligence in my view. Lucky there wasn't more injuries if there were other people around. hopefully the snow might've absorbed some of the impact, given the thing weighs about six tons :-O
 
Negligence is the right word, he got run over by his own snow plough after getting out of it to talk to someone, not applying brakes. When you're in charge of a 6 tonne lethal weapon you don't mess about.

And you know that how?

There has been zero reporting so far (which may change in the future) as to "why" the snow plough moved, so calling it negligence due to him "not applying the brakes" (vs a potential mechanical failure etc) when you have currently no idea yet if that is factually accurate, is a stretch for me.
 
Because he was run over after leaving it unattended. Negligence = failure to take proper care of something. What sort of mechanical failure will make a snow plough continue after leaving it? All in that moment? For me, that's a stretch.

I guess we can speculate and assume but until he actual truth comes out then that's all it is.

The police confirmed they've seized the snowcat so they can check for mechanical failures and rule out foul-play etc.

I know we can only speculate at this point, but it is sounding like a freak accident where he may have gotten out of the snowcat before applying some kind of brake, and then panicked when it started to move, and unfortunately getting in its way while trying to get back in the vehicle.

The sheriff's update mentions it ran over one of his legs leading to significant blood loss. He is at least awake and stable in hospital. I guess at this point after 2 surgeries to save his leg it's just a waiting game to see what happens next.
 
Once had a forklift roll back on me on a slight incline after applying the handbrake.

Got told by maintenance to pull the hand break until it breaks after reporting it.

So yes. People really should wait until there's a report come out if there is one before getting pitch forks out.
 
I have seen truck and heavy machinery do very dangerous things when attended or unattended in the snow. A lorry can be perfectly fine, come to a stop on the slightest of inclines and apply the brakes etc with no issues at all and the vehicle is stationary. Then while it idles the vibration of the engine can cause the snow under the tyres to be come fragile and move causing the lorry to slide. Heavy machinery like snowcats are not supposed to be turned off once they are started as extreme cold can cause them to not start again getting them stuck as well.

From reports he was out helping out residents who were stuck in the snow as well as clearing roads to make it safer for people to get about.

Its all just speculation at the moment so I guess we will see when the report comes out.

Picture seems incorrect.

Seems a horrifically bad call to try climbing back into the cab over these massive ribbed tracks if the vehicle was rolling forwards after you got out.
