Afternoon!

I am currently able to work remotely and don't have to go into work at all.
I am planning to stay in a sunny country this winter while I continue to work remotely. Every now and then, I have to call people from other departments at work.
I am looking for a SIM that lets me make cheap calls back here and also recieve calls. Roaming charges are eye watering. Hence, that is not an option.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
 
Get a VOIP number, run a VOIP app like Sipnetic (I use this one) on your mobile, get calls at UK rates, people call you at UK rates

I found a solution.

Install Skype on your phone and be online all the time.

Now, I don't want people to call me. I want to call them.
Set your Caller ID to your UK Mobile no. Sign up for a Skype subscription. It's £10.80 for unlimited calls to UK mobiles and landlines.
So, when I now call people on their UK mobile no. from abroad through Skype, they will see my UK mobile no.

If they want to call me back, I can recieve this on the Skype app.

I can use my personal no. to set this up. I can also add my work mobile no. as well. So, if someone does ring my work mobile no. , all I have to do is answer through Skype.

Then, you will need a VOIP subscription like Andy mentioned.

Googling also suggested :
Diverting your UK mobile no. to a Skype no. and in turn divert this to your local overseas mobile no.
