I can’t find any locally that have DCC, so probably won’t be able to. Though a few I’m potentially looking to buy do have it, so I’ll be trying before committing. The test drives this weekend are really to make sure that my wife is happy, she’s not really going to know the difference between a car with and without DCC.Will you test drive ones with DCC , to get the feeling., even if newer than what you intend to buy.
it is active though, I thought, even in standard mode - ... so if front wheels hit something maybe back is adjusted, even cornering ? yes its not a fancy, rover active ARBI have the petrol VRS with DCC and I pretty much always drive it in Standard mode
Think that's just the 4x4 Haldex system or XDS (differential)it is active though, I thought, even in standard mode - ... so if front wheels hit something maybe back is adjusted, even cornering ? yes its not a fancy, rover active ARB

not what their advertising suggested - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/499404-dcc-how-it-works/Don't think it's an active system no. It allows you to set a mode but other than that it doesn't read the road etc.
This is from the Seat website (so same system)
"The damping also adapts itself to the respective road conditions. Each shock absorber is connected to a control which calculates the optimal setting for each wheel using sensor data and other information received from the steering, braking, engine, transmission and driving assistance systems. This allows the DCC to continually react (up to a thousand times per second) to bumps in the road, changing lanes or winding roads. This reduces pitch and roll motion and provides optimal settings for every driving situation."
So it does have some active part to it, learn something new everyday. I don't have it speced in mine, will have to get a test drive with it fitted to something when I come to the next car.
Interesting, didn't know it did that, Skoda's documentation for features isn't that great.not what their advertising suggested - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/499404-dcc-how-it-works/
I don't know is a a magnetic system like ford super magnaride - can a pneumatic system react fast enough ?
Your other points are fair, but I’m not buying 2nd hand car seats.Going round again, I'd also get 2nd hand car seats. They have pretty much 0 value 2nd hand due to unfounded fears they might have been involved in a major crash & be 'compromised', so you can get £300 seats that have clearly been sat in dads car & hardly used, for like £30.
Is just the damper and damping rate, why are you over complicating it.it is active though, I thought, even in standard mode - ... so if front wheels hit something maybe back is adjusted, even cornering ? yes its not a fancy, rover active ARB
You can never really be sure about a second hand seat unless it’s from a close family member or friend. Too much left to chance if they’ve been dropped or been in an accident. I agree with Mr Sauce here, it’s not worth the risk. Treat them like a motorcycle helmet.Your other points are fair, but I’m not buying 2nd hand car seats.
Yeah never buy new seats or prams. It should be very obvious if a seat has been dropped.I wouldn't fixate on car seats thst integeate into the pram, or ones that have the ability to swivel - honestly they are features that aren't worth the compromise. We found quite a large variation in how much space rear facing seats took up/how far back they allowed the drivers seat, so you need to try some out really.
Also, once you've decided what pram you want, setup a saved search on eBay to buy it for more it's 'true' value. Depreciation on those things is insane and whatever you buy brand new new will be battered and scratched within months anyway.

In which case I'm glad for you that he didn't have an accident or you might not have been here to post thisPeople stressing over used seats lol. I remember sitting in the boot of my grandads old Peugeot![]()
