I have a belated weak spot for these types of series. I tend to lean towards Danish, and some Swedish. Though Beforeigners is Norwegian.

I've watched;

The Bridge;

The Killing / Forbrydelsen;

Borgen;

The Investigation / Efterforskningen;

Beforeigners

Deadwind on Netflix was quite good. Finnish crime thing.
Deadwind
I'll give that one a go.

Just checked and The Bridge is no longer on iplayer, but looks like i can watch on amazon with an arrow trial. Beforeigners looks interesting, bit of a change from the usual
Just make sure its the original one, not the US version.

i dont watch tv much but my girlfriend likes these types of shows. thanks for posting.

I got chatting with my mum who is obsessed with scandi stuff she recommended

Snabba Cash
The Valhalla murders
Bordertown
Deadwind
The Chestnut man

She does watch corrie and Emmerdale so may not be a completely reliable selection, although we both like Forbrydelsen so she has some taste

The Deadwind one sounds good from the trailers.

It looks like I'll have to sign up for Netflix for it though.

Me and the missus have seen a few, The Chestnut Man is one of the best TV series i've ever seen. Enjoyed The Bridge and currently watching Deadwind.

There's another one I can't remember the name of which was quite enjoyable, a little lighter than the others. Blond policewoman as the main part, head of the murder department. She has lots of flashbacks of seeing her mother being killed / abused and the search for her killer runs across all the episodes. Slightly suspect Dad.

Forbrydelsen/The Killing was really good I really got into that one. The Bridge is very good definitely worth watching. The only downside with subtitled shows you need 100% dedication as you have to watch and read at the same time you can't just have the TV on in the background whilst doing something else or you'll lose the thread entirely

Sometimes while we are watching a subbed show ill see the Mrs out of the corner of my eye replying to a message on her phone, then later on

Me: I'm really enjoying this.
Her: I have no idea what's going on, its so confusing.

I thought Troll was okay, just don't go into it expecting a horror movie..or Troll Hunter.

Norway can do no wrong in my eyes when it comes to movies (except Christmas Blood - that was awful).

The Wave (Bolgen) was good
Quake (Skjelvet) topped that
Burning Sea, not so much
Breaking Surface, that was okay too.
Cold Prey (Fritt Vilt) was pretty decent for a generic slasher movie, it's sequel was okay too although I'm not fond of the third.

Haven't had time to watch The Tunnel or Escape, but they are on my wish list

I fancy watching a tv series called Elves aka Nisser (Danish?)
