Case RGB and ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO Motherboard RGB

I was wondering if someone could help im not sure what to do.

ive never used RGB before and im having a hard time setting it up with my setup


I have a ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO (WI-FI AC) motherboard
A Phanteks Evolv X case
Phanteks halos fan Frame.

I've had the halos frame for some time before the case, I could never get it to work because the person I got it from did not included the cable need to connect it to the motherboard and only realised months later when I got round to connect it.
So I could not get it to work, I have since purchased a Phanteks RGB strip combo pack which had the adaptor, I have just recently tried to setup the RGB after getting to Evolve X cases and moved everything over, I have ran into a few issues and I cant figure out how to set it up.

The issue is my motherboard and halos frame have a 4 pin 12v rgb connecter and the cases uses 3 pin connector so I cant connect it to the motherboard. i've managed to connect the halos frame and got it working after connecting it the wrong way round (the connecter did not show which way to connect it and it would only work one way)

Also the Aura software cant find anything, neither the board or the fan frame am I using the right software?

Anyway what should I do about this, how can I get it to work via the motherboard?

There should be a small black arrow on each connector at one end. They line up arrow-to-arrow.
The arrow points to the power supply (12v/5v) on both the 4 pin and the 3 pin connectors

You need to download Asus armoury crate
Very bloated software unfortunately

I have but but it says not device found, unless im doing something wrong.
 
That's very odd, unfortunately can't really suggest anything without seeing the system myself.
Are the RGB lights working? Just unable to control I assume?
I think (iirc) on some Asus boards, the RGB lights can also be controlled in bios. Might suggest you have a look there
 
motherboards lights work even when the PC is off for some reason, halos now works and the case but I cant control anything on it because i cant conect it to the motherboard.

They all work but unable to control anything,
halos work now that its connected to the motherboard and motherboard lights up even when the pc is off but its not detected by the software
Case I can only control via the io panel because i cant connect it to the motherboard

still no luck, im not sure what the issue could be.

maybe someone with this type of motherboard has some suggestion ?
