Got a Draytek Vigor 130

want to get a BT to RJ11 cable

i'm not sure which is the correct cable

i think its a 4pin Cross not the 4 pin straight ?

Just a normal 2 pin cable (uses the two central pins on the RJ11 connector), doesn't matter if cross or straight, assuming the wall socket is the phone line. I'm assuming the socket already has the ADSL/VDSL filter built in?

Good point about the filter

see attached, want to bypass the black box (hopefully)
but if that is a filter, i will leave it as it is

That's not a filter, but you could use one. You'd probably also do quite well off a filtered master and running a new data-only extension if your sync rate is marginal.

The black box is basically an adapter to change it to the right port size.

Just to make it more clearer, is that cable connected to the Vigor right now? Do you know if this is the master phone socket? If it's not the master socket and an extension, can you take a picture of the master socket?

im not quite sure tbh

all i know is, when we went fiber many years ago they routed the data side for internet to my bedroom, so the modem is connected straight to it

so in theory it is a master socket for the internet

From the sounds of things this is not the master socket, but an extension socket. But if it was installed with internet in mind then the master socket should be one with a filter built into the faceplate, with the extension being wired to that, and assuming it's what's working now with your current modem, then the above cable you linked should work fine.

That sounds about right
