New build no video output

Okay so will preface by saying I bought the components and having a local company put it all together for me as I was reusing some old components and I'm useless, but seems like there's some issues...

I have:
Ryzen 7700x
Strix b650e-f
6000mhz patriot viper venom 32gb cl36 (ram bought from competitor)

The company rang today to say there's an issue. Basically the pc turns on, but there's no video output so can't get into bios or anything and the mobo is showing dram problem apparently.

What are the chances of dead ram, or any compatibility issues you can see with this setup? They've ordered some very very basic test ram, but looks like I'm going to either need to order replacement Patriot RAM or buy a different brand? The website says its EXPO compatible apparently so thought it would be okay (?)

Could it still be a mobo issue? I'm trying to prepare and order replacement/correct parts ASAP to save downtime as I need the machine for some work.

Since DDR5 is so new, I haven't heard much about what works best with what. Some people have had success with updating the BIOS (which presumably improves memory compatibility on the early bios).

I would not buy the same RAM though, makes sense to get something different, but best wait until they check it with their cheap stuff.
 
How long have they left the PC on for?

I have seen it before where it does memory training and can take 2/3 minutes before it finishes and then boots.

Has the company done any troubleshooting? are they able to test different ram to narrow down the fault?

Does the PC have a dedicated gpu or is it using the igpu?

I dunno about AMD but like Ed has said, on my Z690 platform it took a good few minutes before it posted then after that it would post in seconds everytime.

Spoke to the shop, and doesn't work even with the new ram they ordered in. So they've ordered a different AM5 board to test everything else now thinking the mobo is the problem.

I rang them this morning and told them to flash the BIOS, didn't do anything. They've been using their own gpu to test, so I've suggested using mine from my old rig that I gave them or the onboard graphics. Why they haven't tried these options already is beyond me tbh and I'm slowly losing faith in them...

Then it's the fun of waiting for a replacement board if that is the issue!

If they're buying the gear to test I'd just leave them to it :D If on the other hand, you're paying...

Haha yeah they're buying the test gear thankfully. I bought the initial components from elsewhere however, so the RMA process will be on me.

First thing I would have done is tried the IGPU to see if this would work or not and then tried a dedicated gpu but as you said god knows why they have not tried this already or before calling you
 
last time i bought a "strix" board ( older than this one and it was Intel based ) I had this exact problem.

my RAM was fine, it worked on another PC. It was poor compatibility on the mobo so i bought a different mobo and worked fine.
