I don't watch much telly, but I just watched this on ITV because I caught the back end of the local news and it was featured, so I figured that my local area (Bristol) might be in it. It wasn't, and after 20 mins I had to turn it off because it was simply a program about people moaning that they'd parked improperly and had been fined!

One guy drove into a car park, he couldn't work out how to pay and left after 12mins, got fined because he didn't pay (if you're in there for longer 10 mins you have to pay), took the company to court and lost.

I've witnessed an increase in parking charges, but it's the same for us all and you need to work out how to pay to park if you want to park there!

When I did my driving lessons years ago I was taught to take pride in parking well, and I don't mind driving round for a while to find a car park with spaces and working out how to operate the payment system.

I just don't get how this was considered prime time viewing!

Rant over :)

See that should never stand up in court if he has literally driven round for 12 minutes and left then charging him is ridiculous, obviously he needs to be able to prove this but if he can regardless of the t&c’s it should be thrown out.

The problem is, the ANP camera are usually at the the entrance/exit
so when you come in, your number plate is scanned, and the timer starts ticking until you leave

Low effort filler to space out the adverts
I think they've made this exact show at least twice before over the years. Low cost too.

Yep, did the show say how much he was fined or whatever? The usual response to these parking fines is to say, "How much did you lose by me parking there / driving round? I'll pay that".

I don't normally complain about parking because I've never found it much of a problem apart from in very localised situations (like specific roads, football matches or small shop car parks where you can walk from slightly further away) but I was a bit annoyed the other day when we went to a children's hospital that doesn't have any real alternative local parking due to parking permit roads being near by. We had to queue on a one in one out basis to get in the multi-storey car park which was only built in 2015. There just isn't a viable alternative and we waited about 15 minutes to get in, we had planned for this and we have been several times and there only been a couple of free spaces. I believe this is a problem in a lot of hospitals and I really wish this would be planned for better - not many people attending hospitals live within walking distance for example.

A hospital I go to a few times a year has several carparks and thousands of spaces, but if I don't get there by about 730 am even if my appointment is at 11 it's almost impossible to park.

Same with me - I have specifically asked for a appointment before 9.30 or you never get a space - Can't leave it to wife to cruise around as she would never get it in a spot that was wide enough for two cars.

I cannot stand drivers who can’t be bothered to straighten themselves if they park with a wheel in the next bay.

Have been to car parks which I couldn’t find a space to park as cars not parking in the bay
