Any CCTV experts?

Hi all.

Trying to replace a CCTV recorder box for a friend. It is a 4 channel box with coax connections. I have plugged in all 4 of her existing cameras but I just get a ‘out of resolution’ error in each of the 4 previews. The box is made by a company called Maisi.

I naively thought I’d just be able to plug the cameras in and they’d miraculously work but no dice!

Has anyone got any ideas?

Spec me a CCTV System

Assuming it's something like this - It will likely be a case of looking at the channel type settings, and changing them specifically to a different format rather than the likely default of Auto - for standard analog cameras I believe it should be set to CVBS (rather than any of the HD formats AHD, TVI or CVI)

You may also need to drop any resolution settings down from the default (which) will be set at 1080P 2MP, down to a more typical analogue resolution like D1, 4CIF, 2CIF or even CIF

I’ve found a ‘preview mode’ and it has AHD, TVI and CVI setting but no matter what I set it still says out of resolution.

Cameras are Lorex LAB243-C models by the looks of it.

A quick look suggests that they will only work with certain Lorex NVRs - it could be that they use some form of proprietary connection format (as they don't list any of the AHD/TVI etc)

THIS HD CAMERA IS COMPATIBLE ONLY WITH LOREX LHV5100 4K DVR, LOREX DV800 2K DVR, LOREX DV900 4K DVR AND LOREX LHA4000 DVR. WILL NOT WORK WITH ANY OTHER SYSTEM!

I've found the camera specification document and it suggests video output format is 'A-MPX'. They have a BNC connector.
