Daughter's Bedroom DIY Remodel

Might see about some light linen style ones. Don't want anything heavy.

It's funny in Europe. No one has curtains. It's not a thing at all.

I have electric shutters.

I'm going to get some wooden batons that will run along the bed slats and have it lift up, so you can raise it and store stuff in the middle! She needs it for things like lego sets and all that jazz.

Ha we are but all those things are in the mountains! Would be a great place for it though!

I've got hydraulic rams on my bed, which make raising and lowering a breeze and could be a cool feature of her bed.

Treated these boards with a clear matt coat and they'll be mounted as the headboard up on the wall tomorrow. I have my baton now.

making a few of these to hook onto the headboard as well. Projector on one, speakers on 2 and then one for her to have a drink on. So need to make sure the boards are at the right heights tomorrow when I line them up.

Fitted the baton to the bed slats as well, so that can now lift up and down. Hinges will come.

Then spent the last 2hours painting it all. Christ.

But it's up there and all back together. I need to get her a nice light blue sheet and a nice duvet cover. I'll also paint a dab over the screws this side in the morning. Just this minute finished and I'm hooped.

But I'm pleased!

Was thinking about the curtain thing and will do one, probably just on this one side, have it hooked back but will add something to that space too for sure. Soften it down.

Lets see how the headboard comes out in the morning and I'll tidy all the lego and put it under her bed and all her books in the other side just in time for her coming over at 2pm... I am spent!

Well that was a full on morning push to get it as close as I could for her, but I made it and then her mum made me a fry up, so now I need a nap!

started on the headboard.

Taking shape but a bit, "can you tell what it is yet?"

Ah this is getting more like it!

And with one of the shelves I made for the mini projector

Really coming on. Then had to sort all this pile of stuff here out properly.

And start to put all her books away

And this is how it was when she came in to the house. She has been supppper appreciative and for once in her life is pretty speechless. Its a far cry from the mattress she was expecting on the floor! (I told her I had an issue and couldn't finish the bed :P )

and her enjoying it.

Was really pleased with how the shelves and headboard came out! If you ignore that crack :P

Last things are:

- Curtain for that one side (you're right, will warm it right up)
- cable tidying behind the headboard (I have a white thing, just need some double sided tape)
- shelf under her mirror
- adding a secret door to her bed (on one of the holes for her to hide her stuff in)
- hinges on bed
- new light fitting

But at least now I can tidy the rest of my house for a bit!

I'm over the hardest stuff...

Her light needs sorting, so that'll be next on the list and I came up with a cool idea (well we like it haha) and looking around I saw one place selling something like it, but it's $540 for one...

So I've ordered some bits and I'll do 5 of them hanging from the ceiling from the centre base. Can use the LED smart bulbs in there as well to make it look sweet. Think that'll add a super cool effect for the room.

I did a laugh react, but it's only half at the end result I'm picturing, and half at your ingenuity :)

On a similar theme I've got about a cubic metre of beans and two big bean bags to fill... For a friend. And I've brought them into my home so I can suffer the bean plague for some reason!

I bought harper one of those ******* massive beanbags for christmas. I've used 500L so far trying to fill it up. It needs about 500L more... which is like 100EUR! Most expensive and **** me messy job ever! So much regret

45quid for 6 bulbs but its all on it's way. I have to wait for the light fitting part in the ceiling, with 6 cables, to come from aliexpress though as I couldn't for the life of me find it anywhere else!

Ordered a light linen curtain and pole as well from amazon, so that should be here this week before she heads to her mum's Sunday.

It is nuts how it adds up isn't it.... I am up to £1059 on the WC which is like 1m2... death by 1000 cuts!
