Yes I know it would be better to start from scratch but I don't have 2k to spend on a new rig at the moment so looking at an interim upgrade primarily binning the 2 sli670s

These are very long in the tooth now even for 1080 144hz 2gb is really starting to hold me back

I'm not playing modern AAA titles mostly a few older titles UE4 stuff and I'm sure I can get a bit more out of my overclocked 3770k before the bottlenecks start

Also as my rigs watercooled will be looking at something with a block

Happy to go 2nd hand so what's best a blocked 1080ti as they can be had for about £150?
Could I go a little further a 2070 maybe?

Something team red?

I couldn't find any benchmarks to give me an idea how SLI 670 performs, but my guess is maybe somewhere around an RX 580 or 590, when it's actually working? That would make a 1080 Ti a decent upgrade. The 2070 is actually slower, I think?

Looks like a 1080ti would bump me from around 3.5k to 10k in timespy
The tough bit now is finding a good one

5700xt/1080ti/2070

Should have access to mm? 1660ti and 5600xt going at the moment

Wouldnt necessarily get too bogged down about a block seeing as it's a stop gap? Either way your cpu is likely to bottleneck most recent gen gpus?

Up to around a low/mid-range 6000s series card should be fine, like a 6600/6600XT/6650XT,
and should fit within your budget when checking around the used market.

Something lower down the scale will still deliver a large performance jump, too, and most likely a huge leap at that.

I may have one for sale very soon on MM. My 4090 works surprisingly well with the 5960X and the 1080TI FE needs a good home.

Just done the same with all my old bits I had lying around after upgrades etc, decided to make up a PC for my home office for 3D printing, blender files etc, only gets turned on when i'm in there manipulating files :D

5960X @ 4.5ghz
Rampage V Extreme
512GB old NVME drive from somewhere i cant even remember!
32GB (4x8GB Hyper X Fury 2666mhz)
Superflower Leadex III Gold 850w - No idea why i stopped using this, its a great PSU.
Corsair Air 540
2 x 240mm Rads and numerous old flexi tube fittings / pumps from old loops.

I'm in the same quandry, I sold my Palit super jetstream 1080ti when i got my 7900XTX and now, because the 5960X doesnt have built in graphics, I'm left with a choice - I must admit i'm tempted to go for one of the new Intel cards given the price of used cards nowadays! - Just on the off chance the Wife wont let me game on the main system attached to the tele downstairs!

I'd probably agree with a 1080ti, as you said on ebay they are going for relatively cheap with a block on!

6600 XT would fit you just right. Perhaps there's more value going for a SH card but ymmv can't say there's that much more value at this budget from what I've seen.

I’d normally agree but 3060ti is a little faster than a 1080ti and has better perf at 1440p with DLSS which is newer tech. It’s around £350 2nd hand for the Founders edition.

No you can grab a 3070ti for £350 on bay
£300 gets a 2080ti and that stamps all over a 3060ti
