I need help to find a good quality, durable sponge to clean my bathroom. If I buy the cheapo '4 for 99p' ones that you might use for the dishes the scouring part seems to lose loads of little green bits of plastic behind. Conversely, I recently bought a more expensive one (maybe Spontex or Vileda) and it has started to disintegrate and leave bits of sponge behind after itself. Both of these mean you have to effectively clean up after cleaning up.

Any of you ladies and gents have any recommendations?

The green topped sponge is rubbish. Get rid of them right away as they instantly drop bits.

This might surprise you but we use almost entirely just steel ball scourers to clean a bathroom. Only do we use a sponge (yellow with white top) to apply the thick bleach products, others wise its metal balls all the way. Cleans glass, chrome, tiles, no problem and you don't need to put any pressure on it.

If you must use a sponge, the shiny non scratch ones do a better job at staying alive.

f you dont need it to do any hardcore scouring, you could try some Seep organic type sponges, I have been using them in the kitchen for about 2 years, much prefer them over the plastic ones
