Hi all I want a 2 gang 1 way "smart" light switch for outside lights - recommendations?

My switch is in my porch (also operates porch lights) and know there's a couple options

Ideally something where I can both set a schedule and also manually turn it off /on, and preferably not have another box plugged into my router... (already got hive, tado and eufy plugged into my router...)

Currently pre plastering in a 25mm back box, should i get it sunk into a 35mm back box to allow more room for "smart" switches?

Any suggestions?

Ive seen:
Lightwave
Quinetic

P.s. If there was an easy way for me to buy a hive motion sensor and get that to turn the light switch on if be very interested also!

Quinetic are fantastic. Although I’d you fancy cheaper ones look for ener-j.

As long as you’ve got permanent lines - you’re sound. Else you’ll need to leave switches permanently on - which kind of defeats the object!

Our whole house is now quinetic and I wouldn’t go back. It’s a doddle to pair, and we’ve got little key fobs in the car for returning home etc… a bit overkill but works well.

Have a look at nick bundy quinetic - he really went to town on the controller boxes!!

Quinetic do have smart switches - but all mine are just off / on / dimming where appropriate.

So I have been using smart switches that actually go behind the switch.

They fit behind my switches and so I can get 2 way control and maintain the stock stuff. I also bought a smart PIR and connect it all. I use google Home but you could use whatever you use.

The bits that @randomshenans linked should do you - do note that they can be placed inside the ceiling cavity by the light fitting, if the backbox is too small.

Just fitted the version 2 of these to my extractor fan to control the boost function via Alexa, works great. Pretty small but you'll need at least 35mm deep back boxes to fit them in.
