Hi all

We've been to a few Used car dealers and looking online, we're looking to get a new (to us) family car, I know there are many car enthusiasts on here and I'm hoping you'll be able to recommend some potential buys for us, we've been offered £3,100 for our current car. Below is what were looking for

Price: £3000 (roughly)
Seats: 5
Doors: 5
Decent boot size

Doesn't matter on car size as I've driven lorries and the missus won't be driving the car :cry:

I know we're not going to get a top of range car for our price but if any of you could recommend something, reliable and also let me know what Mileage to stay away from etc

What's wrong with your current car? It makes no sense to me to go from one £3000 car to another £3000 car. You will be going from a car you know the history of to one of a similar age that could turn out to be unreliable or costly to run. It's not as if you are going to get a upgrade as 3 grand doesn't buy much these days.
 
Exactly as above. Unless you're doubling the budget to get something newer/better condition. The risk you take is spending 3 grand on a shed that needs another 3 grands worth of repairs on it to get it reliable.
 
The reason for a change I should have stated, its a tiny 3 door corsa with 2 kids (7&5 Years old) so having the extra room and doors would be a lot easier for us all

Just had a browse on Autotrader, Some nice Ford Focus' within a decent radius from me, Also C-Max seems like a nice car.. Will search for the Octavia next
