Advice needed for a new pc after 13 years

This might be a stupid question but can I play cd's on this

Just a FYI: you can get external players, they're not much more than internal drives and it gives you far more case choice (because most cases don't have optical drive slots anymore).

As above. I've been using this option for the past ~10 years to have more choices in cases and to keep my laptops lighter - for the rare occasion i use an optical drive.

nah, this is best price/performance...nothing to improve unless spending significantly more
Really like your build options, think I'm set on the 6700 XT for price vs performance.

Hope Skaz doesn't mind me hijacking their thread but I'm looking to spend about a grand or so and don't need a monitor.

Would you recommend any other CPU/motherboard combinations with a bit more budget? Like to game at 1440 ideally. Think an AM5 based system will be a bit too pricey tho.

I was intending to pick that build up this weekend but am I right in thinking that Overclockers are online only now ? I've found 3 different addresses on the internet High Carr, Shelton and Lyme valley and none seem to be a shop where I can walk in and buy stuff anymore

I went with the recommended spec entirely but I have a small problem with fitting the front intake fans to the Raijintek arcadia11 case, simply I can't see how to remove the front cover or an alternative way to screw on the fans even though the pics clearly show 2 fitted to the front. I've done many searches and can't find how (although I'm not great at searching) any advice as everything else seems to be under control so far and everything has fitted well I think for a first timers build

the front should be held by plastic clips internally, just need to pull from the bottom (circled in red)

Just in case you were wondering why the 2 month delay, Overclockers just reopened for in person collections 1 mile away

The congrats may be a bit early but I have installed everything into the case, now to plug everything into the motherboard and then the really hard part begins when I workout how to get stuff on it (windows etc) and setting it up

should test the parts outside the case first just to make sure all working before you install into the case
