RTX 3080 blower advice please

Seems a bit silly to get rid when you've not even tried it yet. You won't be able to sell it on particularly easily.

You don't HAVE to undervolt it, but it can help. It's really easy to do and there are plenty of guides on Youtube.
You may be right but I'm thinking I have a better chance selling it as new and unused than one thats used.
Most people when I've googled it seem to say don't touch with a barge pole unless using multi cards or if you can only fit a small card in and almost everyone says if you do go with one you will almost definately need to undervolt.
If I was really experienced with these things and understood it fully then maybe it would be different now I've bought it but it feels like starting out with a problem and worry I really don't need.

Where did you buy it from? Any UK retailer is obliged to accept a returnopened the anti static bag to look at the graphics card
The thing is I opened it and took it out of the anti static bag when I got it. I may still try to return it but I'll try and sell it first locally as thats more straight forward even if I take a small loss.

If you purchased it online then you are protected by the Consumer Contracts Regulations. I am pretty sure you can send it back once you see this type of product and are not happy with it even if you have plugged it in and used it. You have 2 weeks to inform them about the return iirc so if you are going to return it then do so within the relevant timeframe.

I am not a lawyer and this may have actually changed with the recent Brexit bill throwing out a lot of EU laws but that page was updated on 5th March so I would trust it. I would contact the seller and look to return the product for a refund.

I had a read around on reddit for some opinions and I think you're worrying more than you need to. Yeah, at stock, it is loud and a bit hot, but it does the job and for an hour a day, I'd just keep it.

Messing with the fan curves and/or undervolting is just one decent video away, it isn't hard, if you can put the card in your machine, then you can handle that.

Just a quick update as I've been busy with a few other things. I thought long and hard after reading everyone's advice and I ended upereturning it although I had to pay a restocking fee.

I may now be buying a 2nd hand gigabyte aoris 3080ti master off a good friend of mine and I know it's been well looked after.

I've currently got a Corsair cx750 psu. I'm presuming I'll need a new one that will be able to connect to the 3080ti, can anyone recommend a cheap ish psu that will work? I was thinking 850 watt should do but I know some cards need different connectors.

Thanks again for all the help.

While your psu may be capable of powering a 3080ti the CX range by Corsair are not their best products. Cheapest decent psu I can see in stock on OCUK is the ...

IIRC the 3080ti needs 3 8 pin pcie connectors and all 850w models from reputable manufacturs will have that capability.

If you are buying a brand new PSU then it may be wise to actually get a ATX 3.0 version, the one below is £35 more but it does give you better compatability for future upgrades. It is the odd Shift version so not certain it will be compatable with your case but there are similarly priced ATX 3.0 psus from other manufacturers.

If I was you I would plug the 3080ti in with your psu and see how it works. It has 4 pcie 8 pin connectors so ample for your needs. If the system is unstable or it just does not work at all then get a new psu but no harm in testing first.
